Shipping No Tracking for Local Orders

I've been Penalized for Shipping ratings for the 4 or 5 local area orders which didn't require Shipping or need for tracking number. How is this possible? It clear gives a drop down indication of delivery in local area. Dropped from 95% to 94% I don't get it. This isn't fair.

The system does not recognise local pick ups or drop offs, so they will count against your stats.

The requirements for shipping for the SSP is any order over a certain value must have tracking. I get that it sometimes is against good customer service, but it is what Etsy wants. You have the option of marking 'local delivery' but that doesn't negate the need for tracking for SSP purposes. I'd say more but just took a quick look at your shop to see where you were and infringements have me backing away ...

The general rules for Etsy and the Star Seller rules are two separate things.  In general, you can choose to do local pickup/delivery as a service to your customers, and Etsy provides a local pickup option in the drop down for that.  BUT, and it is a big BUT, if you want the Star Seller Badge, you must abide by the SS rules and they clearly state that local pickup/delivery will count against you for SS.  You have to decide what is more important to you, going the extra mile for your customers, or shipping EVERYTHING with tracking so you can get the badge.

@GiveMPropsNMore  Dagan, if you want a Star Seller badge read the whole page in your shop manager dashboard > Star Seller.

 "Adding tracking to all physical orders is one of the criteria for Star Seller if you’re in the US. If you mark an order as complete without adding tracking, it does not meet the requirement for Star Seller."

The Star Seller metric for shipping is very simplistic and binary - either you marked the order as complete on time with a verifiable tracking number or you did not.

Will local pickup orders be part of my evaluation for a Star Seller badge?

All physical listing orders must include a valid tracking number or a shipping label purchased on Etsy to be considered for a Star Seller badge. At this time, we’re unable to make exceptions for local pickup orders.

This also applies to delivery orders.
