My shipping issue is that I forgot to include one item in the package I shipped out to a customer last week. I'm so embarrassed.
Question: How can I ship out this forgotten item through Etsy? I will NOT charge the customer for my mistake. Is there a way to send out this second package through the Etsy interface to get a reduced shipping cost, where I will pay the shipping cost? Or must I take this second package to the post office and just ship as I would any personal item?
Appreciate your help with this issue.
You can use any discounted postage service you like. I use Pirateship.com. You will pay for your label like you always do, but will not charge your customer for it. But you do need to go back to the order on Etsy and click the ... option, then Add a Package. Choose the carrier (USPS or UPS or whatever you used), then enter the second tracking number. It would also be a good idea to include a message to the buyer apologizing for your mistake and letting them know it is on the way. That will also serve to remind you why you sent a second package on that order.
Go the order, click the truck icon, select "get shipping labels" and input the info to buy another label. The cost of the second label will be charged to your etsy bill.
I did this, and my customer says their card was charged. Etsy help is zero help, as always. I'm just asking the customer how much they were charged and refunding them manually.
There is no way that the customer would be charged for a label you purchased on Etsy.
Don't be so quick to refund - find out what really happened.
On Etsy you can go to the original order and go to buy shipping like you normally do and purchase an additional label. You would need to fill in the weight, size, etc. and the tracking number will automatically enter etc.
An hour ago I answered your question in your other thread about this issue.
Just tried that - went to the order, filled in the shipping info - but I'm getting a message up on the top left that says 'invalid weight' - and the interface will not let me proceed.
I've tried shifting the weight a little up and down - but so far, I'm unable to purchase a label
