I have some listings for custom wedding coasters which have a shipping profile for 1-2 weeks. Someone just purchased one of these listing 3 days ago and it's already saying I should ship by today. It's effecting my ability for star seller, but it also makes it look to the buyer that I should have shipped their items much sooner than promised. I have triple checked my listing(s). It even has the breakout on the listing for when they should expect their items to be delivered, and this part shows correct. It's also clearly stated in my listing description, just to cover all my bases. But then once the person purchases the item it suddenly says that within 3 days of purchase I should have already shipped the items. Due to the custom nature of my item, by day three I am often still waiting on the customer to approve design proofs, so it's not even possible to ship their items yet. What in the world am I supposed to do about this? Anyone else having this issue?
You could have changed the shipping date before it arrived. Now it's too late to change it. Your only option is to refund/cancel and ask the buyer to purchase again, if you want to avoid being docked for late shipping.
No. I absolutely didn't change the listing's shipping profile after it had already been purchased. I haven't touched those specific listings since creating them. I only checked the listing's shipping info when I noticed it said it should have already shipped by day 3 because I knew I would never be able to ship it that quickly.
This has happened to me 2ce in the last week. Its very frustrating because I also don't want it to effect my star status.
I feel for you. It's very discouraging.
@FreshPressedPaper: It sounds like Etsy has broken something again. Was the scheduled ship by date correct when you first received the order and it changed later, or was it incorrect right away?
It seems to be incorrect right away It only shows up in my 'sales' page with the wrong ship date. I have 3 active sales right now that show a 7-10 day production time, but on the listing highlights its showing it will ship in 2-3 days. It's really messing up my production.
As far as I can tell it never stated the correct ship by date once purchased.
Did they only order that item, or did they also order something else?
There was a thread in the last couple of weeks, where the order defaulted to the shortest processing time not the longest. Could be that?
In my case they only ordered one piece. All of my shipping profiles (including the couple that are effected) say 7-10 business day production times. I've triple checked.
@JaimeBaby: Based on your post you need to update the scheduled ship by date right away (remember you can only do it once and it has to be done before the original scheduled ship by date). Then you should report the specific orders to Etsy so maybe someone will look at them and figure out why they are calculating the original scheduled to ship by date incorrectly.
@JaimeBaby
Just FYI, I checked some of your listings and found this listing has a 1 - 3 day processing time:
So are you saying the profile says 7-10 days but the listing is showing 1-3 days?
If yes, wow, I would contact Etsy support!
Yes- that's the exact one. its shipping profile is thew same as all of the other listings.
I'm having the same issue...1-3 weeks processing but they say 4 days
