Hi Everyone! Happy New Year 2023!!
I'm unable to share my shop Star Seller badge on social media. The option is no longer there. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?
Thank you,
Debra
I don't see it either.
According to the rules for the SS, it doesn't seem that you're allowed to do this.
From the help pages, it seems the SS badge can only be displayed on Etsy and you're not allowed to use it anywhere else.
Star Seller Terms and Conditions - Our House Rules | Etsy
Any use of the Star Seller badge not specifically allowed by these Terms is not permitted and any such misuse may lead to revocation of the badge. When you’re awarded a Star Seller badge, you’re getting a limited license to use it solely in accordance with these Terms, which means you are not allowed to use or display your Star Seller badge other than where it is displayed by Etsy directly.
Qualifying as a Star Seller does not give you any ownership or other proprietary rights in the Star Seller badge or other Etsy intellectual property, other than as provided in these Terms. Etsy retains all rights, title and interest in and to the Star Seller badge and other protected materials.
We want sellers to be proud of their Star Seller status on Etsy, but please don’t:
The OP is talking about the icon they provide to star sellers each month to share on social media. It's normally on the social media page in 'marketing'. But this month it isn't. In December, it appeared half way through the month.
There are contradictory rules about this, if that's any surprise. Yes, you're forbidden to mention it, but hey -- please share it all over social media.
At least they seem to have removed all the listings that were made only to show a shop's star seller status.
Mine is not there either again this month. It is a technical problem that Etsy are working on apparently. In December it did eventually appear on my Dashboard, but had to wait quite a few days.
Thank you!
Yes- I didn't get it last month until late, and also this month it is not in the email or on my dashboard again.
Thank you! Theyalso incorrectly had my shippingcalculation wrong in Decber. After calls and emails they agreed it was incorrect, however, never updated my Star Seller Status for December - the busiest shopping month of the year.
I also didn't receive my Star Seller badge in December though I didn't think to check back later in the month.
I've spoke to an agent. They told me: "that's why I will refer you to our technical team due of your concern" [sic]
The agent ended the chat and I've since received an email stating: "You recently chatted with Etsy Support, and our chat was disconnected" so I've replied to that email asking what is going on and whether my issue has been reported at all.
I'm screenshotting everything.
Star Seller badges that turn up weeks late aren't of any use to anyone, and this is now the second month it's happened.
My day job is in IT with 25 years experience. Here's how situations like this are handled nowadays...
1. Admit there's a problem. Explain why and what is being done.
2. Give an estimated Time To Recovery.
3. Update this estimate if it slips, with further updates on why and what is being done, and how the situation is being escalated (a senior member of staff at board level is typically named at some point as being personally responsible for the situation).
I challenge Etsy to be up front and honest about the current situation.
I agree! It’s also frustrating to see statsfluctuations as though your own efforts are not working on social media to bring traffic- it’s almost as though they ate trying to have you buy Etsy Ads.
Hi all! Thank you so much for your replies!! Apologies for spelling errors from my iPhone
