I'm just trying to implement links from Share&Save to my pins on Pinterest. Sometimes it's going without obstacles but more often, red error on Pinterest appears and I can't save a pin with a new link. At first I thought that's about link longnes, but not. It's probably about safety certicates of domain. Etsy.com - is safe and certificated, but yourshopname.etsy com - is not.
Does anybode know how to solve this problem on my side, without involving etsy support. Is that even possible?
I stopped posting on Pinterest when I noticed that all of my pins said, “sold and shipped by Etsy”. When I couldn’t even take credit for or brand my own work, I decided not to pursue marketing there. I also had a problem with sham websites using my pins/photos to draw people to their fake online stores. But the addition of a discrete watermark and a few complaints to Pinterest alleviated that problem for the most part.
Wow, I've never noticed this! Even with very old pins, created with etsy integration app. I only saw "item unavailable".
However, etsy always tried to "own" pins, by adding their logo to those ones, but it never happend to those created in Pinterest by myself. So far till now!
What is strange and impossible to understand to me, that Pinterest's "outbound clicks" was never equal the etsy's statistics. Etsy shows 100 visits from Pinterest in 30 days, Pinterest says 2000 "outbound clicks" in the same time. The only possible "outbound", is to my listings, so I can't get it.
@EarthyClayandcraft @I hadn’t been to Pinterest in a while, so I just checked again. They’ve changed it and it no longer says “sold and shipped by Etsy” on my pins, BUT…it DOES say, “Love this pin? Let Etsy know”, preceded by the Etsy “E” (in its orange circle) with “7.5m followers”. And wow! 2000 link clicks! That’s incredible. Etsy stats are always a little wonky, so it’s not surprising that the don’t match.
Yes, that's what I meant when wrote, they want to "own" pins. Though this only applies to pins created in etsy store site or Marketing/Social Media in Dashboard.
Unfortunately, these 2k does not translate into commercial success
Whether something changes or not.
I have already seen the advantage to using the new share link ... ka-ching x 3, and not 1 of them was from an offsite ad!
I've gotten in the habit of asking my customers where they found the item that they purchased. I have a Pinterest page and in many cases that's where they are finding me. On each of those listings on there, I have placed that link leading to each of my items. Not once have I received any discounts from where they find it. There is no way of tracking where the customer finds your listing unless they tell you so. This is not working out for me at all.
