I'm just trying to implement links from Share&Save to my pins on Pinterest. Sometimes it's going without obstacles but more often, red error on Pinterest appears and I can't save a pin with a new link. At first I thought that's about link longnes, but not. It's probably about safety certicates of domain. Etsy.com - is safe and certificated, but yourshopname.etsy com - is not.
Does anybode know how to solve this problem on my side, without involving etsy support. Is that even possible?

I don't know the answer to your question but have one of my own. I have already saved to Pinterest from my listings. Is that just backwards from what you're trying to do? I still need to read the details, then I'm sure I'll have more questions.
I also have a lot of pins with old links. This new ones start with shop name i.g.:
old one - etsy.com/listing/number
domain etsy.com - certificated
new one - kiwietnoart.etsy.co/listing/number
domain kiwietnoart.etsy.com - problem with cetification
First Pinterest sometimes shows error and don't wonna save pin with new link, but sometimes do.
Browsers go crazy, when one trying to conect with domain without certificate
I did the same thing as you did. I've been sharing my listing links on Pinterest for years. Are we now supposed to try and change that link to the one they offer? If so, it's not working for me either. Pinterest will not allow me to change it.
@EarthyClayandcraft Hi, I don't use social media. But in this Thread on Pg. 4, see the two posts by Seller ArtisticGalDesigns. She had trouble with her Pinterest pins. And contacted Etsy Support as well as Pinterest. I don't know if this is related to your problem. Hope this helps in some way.

Thank you!
I just saw this thread. Yes, that's probably the same issue, that's why Pinterest suspended ones account. Safety first!
Not sure if your sharing from the marketing part or not but this is reply for that way.

I'm creating my pins in Pinterest. This way may be more laborious, but theoretically it should be more versatile and allow you to freely change links
Thank you!
@EarthyClayandcraft: We just tried a test post in Pinterest using that hideous URL they provide and did not get an error.
"Etsy.com - is safe and certificated, but yourshopname.etsy com - is not." Subdomains should be covered by Etsy's certificate. Oddly https://www.yourshopname.etsy.com is "unsafe" but https://yourshopname.etsy.com is "safe". Someone at Etsy did not set things up correctly.
I pinned a couple and everything seemed to be ok. I never went to look at them on Pinterest because frankly I don't care what they look like.
I'm trying to save new links to old pins and that's what generating errors. Not always, but very often
Maybe if you're making new pins from etsy listing page, everything works correct.
ooooh. yes, I just made new pins. @TBQSC addresses this below.
I pinned a listing today using my new share link, had no issues. Issues ARE arising if you are trying to change/edit the existing links in your pinned listings on Pinterest ... in these cases, it's best to pin the listing as a new pin using your share link.
But you know, I already have a couple pins which work quite well, so it's natural and worth to try
Sorry to all! I really don't know why all my replies are located in the same thread. Each one, I've started under proper post
After many attempts I managed to change a few, but I noticed that pins already saved in different groups still have the old links syntax, so this change will only affect pins, that will be saved with the new URL. In my opinion, it's worth to change, so I try
I opened several listings and was able to change the link but after just a few, I began to receive errors. Maybe Pinterest will only allow so many changes per day or something. IDK
Exactly the same for me. I'm able to change 3, 4, sometimes 2 at once and then error appears. So I'm doing it from time to time in small batches
I think there is something with this new subdomain safety certificate, but am not sure and definitelly not able to solve it by myself. However I've checked, the new urls work and add up on etsy.
This link when copied only goes to the shop home page and not to a particular listing. How do they know when someone purchases a particular listing to give credit for it? This really seems to another one of those ideas that were not tested thoroughly at all again.
@ConniesCrochets you can get trackable links for each of your listings.
Hmm, mine, these ones with listing number go to the exact listings from which they werre copied. Like here:
https://pin.it/7Hf6mGr
However, as I understand rules of this program, it doesn't matter what is purchased for 30 days after the buyer has reached the store by clicking the link shopname/etsy.com or shopname/etsy.com/listingnumber
That's the same situatiion like with off site ads.
I opted in, then opted out of this for now. I want to know what the "catch" is, because there always seems to be one.
I think that the main "catch" is that you can opt in again... and again opt out
It's really crazy, that etsy previously and their acolytes here, led people to such paranoia, that when they finally did something normal, that's so hard to believe.
