I wanted to ask y'all before going to reporting this person to Etsy. I recently ordered 3 dog tags for my babies. After I paid the person shut down the listing. Should I wait till the day I can leave a review, or just tell esty the person stole my money?
I have never had this happen. I had a good feeling of a community of people supportting people. But not this time
They deleted the listing or their shop? When is it scheduled to ship?
It is both the shop and the listing. It was scheduled to ship this week but sometimes people don't give you a tracking number
Is the shop still open? When was it to ship? The seller may simply have not renewed the listing yet.

Open a case with Etsy if the shop is closed.
open a case, and also you could consider getting with your payment processor/bank. Shops close for a variety of reasons. Some of them are scam related. Some aren't. A long time Etsy seller was apparently killed by a road rage driver a week or so ago. I've seen nothing about this in the forums. But his shop is closed now. I would hate to think anyone would go 'oh wow, I wonder if he was scamming me...'
protect yourself, of course.
@CoquetteBath oh gosh! That's so sad.
yes it is.
it is even sadder that I think I'm the only person who put the data together to figure it out it was him.
Who? What? I did not hear about this--can you link me to the thread with the info?
How terrible!
There was no thread. No one here seems to have realized it. The man's shop is closed.
A day after the road rage accident. So, coincidence? You could say that, but the photos that went with the news article left me utterly convinced.
I didn't 'know' him. Only from here, but....sad no one has realized this.
Could you tell me who it was? If you would rather just message me thru Etsy instead of posting publically .
We sometimes have people just not show up ever again and it always leaves me wondering--probably my age--Hazel and I are same age within a few weeks so you know--us oldies. {{{sigh}}}
If you still want them, I would wait until the shipping date has passed as they may still make them for you. If you file a claim, they definitely won't make them. Many sellers get out their last orders when their shop gets shut down. If you don't receive a tracking number by the ship date, then I would start a claim. You will be refunded, so it is really no big deal or rush as you have 6 months to dispute. Also, you could google their store to see if they have a website.
