Hello,
I need help. My etsy account was suspended because my taxpayer information could not be verified. I double checked it and it all looked good but I re-entered it anyway. It told me to check back in an hour while it was verified. It's been 6 days! I've opened a support request, and was responded to once after a 3 day wait. The reply I received just told me that it will get looked into, but that a time estimate could not be provided.
The information I have entered is correct and i have all the documentation that is required. I don't know what is going on, but I need my shop opened back up
we are other sellers here.. only Etsy can help you with this... If you have a ticket open with them- then you likely will have to wait until they get to it.
Thank you for your reply. Yes, I had figured no one could really assist me. I just wondered if anyone else was going through something similar? Or if anyone had tips on how I could expedite the process?
Only Etsy can help you with this. It is a common problem. Find their intial reply and look for a link that says I Still Need Help near the bottom of their reply. Click that and tell them your problem again and how long it's been. Only reply through the I Still Need Help links. You may get 2 or 3 canned responses before you get a real person who can help you.
Do not start any new email threads, or they will automatically close the current one and consider the new email a new problem, so you will have to start over again with all the canned responses.
How long is it normal to have to wait to get a response from etsy?
They say they will respond within 10 days, but it can be longer. They don't hold themselves to the standards they hold us to.
From what I can gather from similar posts on the forum, there is a technical issue that Etsy know about but it's holding up the verification. Others with the same problem have had to wait about 3 weeks before Etsy can verify and unsuspend the account manually. I'm sorry this has happened to you but you are not alone.
I see. Thank you for your insight. I've been trying to be patient, but after days of no response, it's getting very discouraging. I worked really hard to get some products ready for mothers day, and the day I was going to list them, my shop was suspended without warning.
I think your right! They really do need to focus more on providing great seller support with a fast response time. I was told in the one message i received that they respond to suspended shops in the order in which the etsy community is affected. It sounds like priority is given to the bigger and more established shops. This is really unfair to all the smaller shops who are still trying to get on their feet.
@Lightbugprintables I know 2 suspended shops waiting over a month to get a decision on their appeals. It's ridiculous.
"I was told in the one message i received that they respond to suspended shops in the order in which the etsy community is affected." - this is very interesting. If you ever want to chat about it more, please email me through my website.
