I got a scam message from Etsy staff asking me my email address. And recently got few fake buyers asking many email too. What is this all about? I wondered Etsy is a very safe selling platform.
Just mark as spam and do not reply.

If you receive an actual order, you will see it in your "Orders and Shipping" section and you will receive an email from Etsy notifying you that you have a sale, and there will be a notification in your dashboard as well.
That is a SCAM--do not answer them and put the message in spam folder.
It's safe as long as you are well educated on how etsy works and how to spot scams. Many people don't need to worry but many do because they are gullible and falling for these scams.
I wish more sellers would read the forums so they would know ahead of time what scams are going on. I hate reading about sellers losing money on these scams because they didn’t know better. If I was 50 years younger I might have fallen for it.
It's not from Etsy Staff. It's a scam account the criminal has opened with the name "Etsy Staff".
(How and why Etsy allows a random person to open & name an account 'Etsy Staff' is another conversation.)
Mark it as spam. The real Etsy has your banking info and email and won't ask for it. Legitimate orders show on your Dashboard in your order queue. Legitimate messages from Etsy appear in the 'Etsy' folder in your messages inbox.
The message is NOT from Etsy staff, it’s from someone pretending to be Etsy. If you will fall for this you will also fall for those contacting you about a package re-delivery click on this link or a bank or credit card provider alerting you to someone using your account, please verify your identity. Online and phone scams are everywhere. Google to read up on popular scams so you don’t fall for them.
No. Never been scammed in my life until this one. What makes it unique is that you receive the message within etsy itself which according to etsy is the only way they contact you.
In a second, I realized something fishy was going on because they locked the PayPal option and asked for a credit card, which of course they didn't get. The only thing I can't figure out is how I got to the link.
@MacaziShop If they asked for email or financial information then you received a scam message. Spam the message.
If you supplied them with any financial information, contact your bank.
Do not click on any links in these messages.
