SECOND time I try to list new listing and it's not showing up in my Etsy Shop? HELP?

What is going on?

First I thought it was my error, so I redid the entire listing.  Uploading all my photos, then retyping and describing the item.

Very frustrating and nerve wracking.

This is the first time this has happened to me.

Opened my Etsy Shop last October (2021)

Would appreciate some feedback.

How long has it been? Sometimes it can take a few minutes for new listings to show up depending on how active the site it and how often the server is refreshing etc. Nothing is instant on etsy. Some days it can take 30 minutes or so for things to show up properly.

Thanks for your feedback. For me, it has been "instant". As soon as I upload a new listing, it shows up immediately. I've never had to wait minutes. I've now listed this same listing twice. Anyway, thanks. Will need to keep watching to make sure it's not listed twice. Again, thank you for taking time to reply. It is appreciated.

Apron, listed today.  Your shop defaults to Custom sort - changing to most recent shows the apron first.

* Although now that I think about it, a brand new listing would show first no matter the sort, until you choose to move it around.  Oh well - probably just a time delay.

Thanks for taking time to reply. It's never happened before and I didn't change any of the sort patterns. Will need to make sure it's not showing up twice. It was an "Original by Robert" hinged cuff / bangle bracelet. Thanks again. It is appreciated.

Is it showing in your Listings on the back side of the dashboard? I put a bunch of things on sale today that weren't showing the sale price on the front side for about a half hour.

When I view your shop as most recent there are 7 items that show as listed today. What did you list that's not showing up for you?

An "Original by Robert" Cuff / Bangle Bracelet. Apparently someone else in another comment stated that if I used the word "amber" (which I did for one of the enamel colors), then a "bot" deactivated it? (seems a little ridiculous to me. I can't be the only one that has used the "amber color" for description? Anyway wondering how to move forward. Delete it and use another color description? or just wait that an "actual human being" reviews it.  Very frustrating!

Best guess is that for performance reasons Etsy caches pages like your shop homepage, etc and only does live reads of the listing itself. That is why there may be discrepancies and delays. We often see a noticeable delay on our shop home page when listing / relisting items. Your listing manager and the listing itself *should* always be current and up-to-date.

Okay everyone. I found it in the "deactivated group".  And it states "deactivated by Etsy"??????

What the heck does that mean?  Anyone know?

ahh ok, Glad you found it. Sorry it's been deactivated. It most likely was deactivated by a bot for using a word that the bot is programed to find. Did you happen to use the word amber in any part of the listing for the bracelet? If so then that is likely the reason. Once a human reviews it then it will likely be reactivated.

Yes, I used the word "amber" for the color of the enamel. Gee whiz!! Didn't realize that was a "no-no"?  And it showed up as "two listings" in the deactivated group.  Obviously, I don't want the same listing showing up twice.  Sounds like I at least need to end one of them and hope that the other one shows up?  Thanks for your reply.

What other word can one use for an amber color on jewelry? And, now what? Does someone actually take time to review these? Should I just "delete" it and try to use another color? (Seems kind of ridiculous, if I must say).

Caramel color, golden, honey,  cognac color (I've used that, and not had any issue with it being a booze name - LOL!)

LoL  I think if it's still showing up as "deactivated" I'll just delete it and use one of your suggested color descriptions. Sincerely appreciate your recommendations. (Still think it's ridiculous, but "oh well", lesson learned!) Gee whiz!  LoL

Okay. Finally, success!  I deleted it and redid the description. Did NOT use the word "amber" for the enamel color. Crazy. Anyway, BIG thank you. That darn bracelet is now up and listed. Much appreciated  : )

Well, I've actually redone the description and it's still showing up as "deactivated".  I suppose I'll have to delete it  ? and relist the entire item AGAIN for the third time? Is this a common issue?  Totally weird. But thanks for your feedback. Much appreciated.

Okay everyone. Big thank you to all. I deleted it and redid the entire listing. Did not include the word "amber" in the color description and the "darn bracelet" is now listed!  LOL  Thanks again to everyone. Much appreciated!

It appears from reading other threads that once Etsy has deactivated a listing you have to wait for it to be reviewed (by a person?) and they will reactivate it themselves if they feel that is the appropriate action.

I would still reach out to Etsy to make sure that you have no deactivated item black mark against your shop.

I deleted it and retyped the description.  Not sure what you mean by a "black mark" against my Shop? I used the word "amber" for the color in the bracelet. I did receive an email from Etsy and apparently "amber beads" are not allowed. But my description was about the color amber, not any stones and/or beads. I'll try to reply to the email then to explain.  Who knew?

How do you reach out to Etsy? I just tried to reply to the email they sent and it came back to me as "undeliverable".

Thanks again all.  I sent an email to Etsy Support explaining that this bracelet is enamel and gold tone metal.  I had retyped the description and used the words "burnt orange" as one of the enamel colors.  Then I relisted it with no problem.  However, I've now decided to "deactivate it myself" just to make sure all is okay.  Am waiting for a reply from them. I also found some past forum chats about this and it looks like there were lots of conversations about this topic. Hope Etsy finds a way to get their "bots" to distinguish between using the word "amber" as a color description vs. a stone and/or bead. Enamel is not a stone or bead. I would think that most people would know that. Will NEVER use that word "amber" again in my listings.  Anyway, just wanted to provide an update and to say thank you to those who educated me on this topic.
