My account was close wile ago for the same reason, but now it started again . 10 Listings was removed for not meeting their Creativity Standards. We resolved this before thanks to this this Blogs help .  Now it is the same problem I think , Robots looking at my own website to compare pictures probably, as I am sure i can sell this hand made items on Etsy .

I may do not understand completely what is going on but I am afraid that no help again from Etsy support at all. My cases never answered , last case opened 4 days ago ignored . I am helpless again . Anybody can help to resolve ? Look at my listings I may missing something?

Re: Robots keep removing listings

The bots are finding the same photos off Etsy. That’s why. Don’t use the same photo in both places. It’s easier than appealing each time.

Re: Robots keep removing listings

I am just guessing, It was created many years ago, now I am using different pictures on my website as removing backgrounds , on etsy I use real images not edited. That was just my guess, I am still not sure what was the real reason for removal. I need help or any advise what was wrong and etsy odes not answer

Re: Robots keep removing listings

Got that , i started separating it 1 year ago since they closed me in 2024. I install only real unaltered pictures here, and edited or with my initials or with removed background on other sites.

Re: Robots keep removing listings

Etsy updated their Creativity Standards last week (on the 10th) and it is effecting shops with home hardware offerings, among other things.

You may want to read these posts and see if any of this may apply to you:

You may not be meeting their new creativity policy.

Re: Robots keep removing listings

Home improvement items are no longer allowed to be listed as supplies by Etsy.

All of those items now need to be handmade with your own hands, not by a manufacturer.

The rules JUST changed on June 10th and Etsy did not make any sort of announcement to warn sellers.

You may have to close your Etsy shop and move to another venue.

Looking at your shop...

Some photos are of the item in a department store setting. That makes it look like you are reselling, not handmaking things in your shop!

Re: Robots keep removing listings

@handyctcom

Some of your items are photographed in a completed retail, like a Walmart or Michaels - stores that sell imports from all over the world but make absolutely none of them.

There are retail shopping carts in the background. Shoppers and a mall setting.

There are branded products in the background of your items as well.

AND, you are literally selling landscaping rocks:

https://www.etsy.com/legal/creativity

"The following are examples of items that do not qualify as ‘handpicked by a seller’:

- Resold commercially available items that are newer than 20 years old, even if the item is designed to appear vintage
- Resold commercially available gift baskets, or gift baskets with a single item type or from a single commercial brand, as opposed to a collection of different item types selected and creatively packaged by the seller
- Resold items from nature
e.g., Bulk landscape rocks resold from Home Depot"

Re: Robots keep removing listings

If you listed them as a supply in the home improvement category Etsy removed that category and more June 10th. If you're handmaking them and listed them as handmade but Etsy added" this item will also be found in Supplies> home improvement" ,  sellers are having their handmade listings deactivated.  You may be able to contact Etsy and prove you handmade them and listed them as handmade and they may reactivate them. Good luck.

Re: Robots keep removing listings

@handyctcom   Your items say designed by not made by so chances are you are getting listings removed because Etsy does not think your items are handmade.  Production partners are POD not yourself.   So are you making the items you are selling?  If you design then a POD is your production partner. POD as in Printify or Gelato amon others.  You listed your own company?  That may be part of the problem.

You have no about page that shows you making the items in your workshop.  Something that would help the claim that you are making the items.

Your listings say you are the designer but nothing says who is making them.

Re: Robots keep removing listings

@handyctcom

You can no longer sell home improvement items YOU did not PERSONALLY make with your own hands and tools.

Adding a production partner won't stop the removals, as those items are NO LONGER ALLOWED by Etsy's Creativity Policy.

Re: Robots keep removing listings

Please do not pay anyone who guarantees that Etsy will not deactivate any more of your listings.  Nobody can guarantee that.  These policies are new, so all sellers are learning the new guidelines.  Certainly, nobody should be charging for any expertise in this.  The links that @PlatypusDream and @PoochandTabby posted are full of free information.

Re: Robots keep removing listings

Nobody can guarantee items will not get removed, etsy removes items on accident so anything is really able to get taken down. However, in light of the new rules, as well as items that to me were problematic even before the recent change to policies, you may find someone who can guide you into removing items that are guaranteed to now be against policy.

Re: Robots keep removing listings

Aside from people speculating on items in your shop that are subject to further deactivations.

What specific items were actually removed? That would give the forum a much better idea how to help you with what was actually removed and help figure out why. What you had removed may be completely different from what you still have active.
