Greetings all,
Recently I received x2, 1 star reviews from a buyer who claims in a review to have read the description of the items wrong. Is there anything I can do to solve this? I did reach out to the buyer and they said there was nothing I could do to improve their experience. They stated that they really liked the items but again stated they didn't read the description and therefore received items they weren't expecting.
In Etsy's buyer policy it states under Buyer Policy - Our House Rules | Etsy that buyers must:
If more people order items without reading the descriptions, should I expect to receive harsher reviews statistics?
Is there something more I can do to solve this?
Unfortunately it doesn't fall under Etsy's criteria for removal. Try not to worry too much, many of us have similar reviews where the buyer didn't read the title even, let alone the description and it is all part of selling online. If you haven't already, you could ask the buyer to change the stars. You can explain the impact low stars have on shops and say something like "so wonder if you would be so kind as to increase the stars since you say you didn't read the description". Worth a try I'd say.

Thank you for your quick response! This is definitely something I will have to get used too.
@VivamusTek3D I added to my reply. You have nothing to lose at this point.
I have had surprisingly good luck the few times I have had this happen. Very much worth the try.
Etsy will remove a review only if we determine it violates Etsy’s policies. If you believe that a review violates Etsy’s policies, you can report it. Reviews that are negative, but that comply with Etsy’s policies won’t be removed.
Reviews and your response to reviews violate Etsy’s policies if they:
Sadly, Etsy rarely ever, if they actually do, remove poor reviews. One lady gave me a "one" and no words at all, I wrote nothing. She just ghosted me. About a month later, she was selling my huge sticker set, as an "each" product. And the other with a "2" was because she thought my 80 clip art pieces were on 80 pages, one per page when I clearly said, 8 pages for that 80 total.
But your shop is pretty nice. You have a lot of customer photos, your stars did not take a huge hit because you've sold so many. In no time, you'll likely be right back at the top. Nearly 5 stars from so many is lucky, you are talented, and I would not think twice about buying your product after seeing the photos and stars and great reviews too.
Your store looks great, life is short, just let them go.
@LinkisPrintables @VivamusTek3D : What many people seem to not consider is that almost everywhere it is illegal to remove bad reviews except for a very few, very narrow reasons. Unfortunately a buyer's lack of good sense or judgment or even reading skills is not one of those reasons.
i have a buyer who is coming back to order over and over again .. same item ..and giving me 3 stars every single time . its so annoying ..no reason for the 3 stars , but she is coming back for more
