Returned deposit

I have daily deposits. This morning I checked and my deposit was sent, but immediately after that I saw 'deposit returned', and the money is still sitting in my Etsy account. I guess I've been lucky that this has never happened to me, so of course I'm trying to get on top of this now. I did the 'verify all your info is correct' stuff last week, and have had zero problems since then. Any ideas besides just waiting to see if it happens again tomorrow? Ugh.

Re: Returned deposit

You need to contact your bank and see if there is anything that would prevent the deposit from going through. I would suggest contacting Etsy, but you may have to wait forever for response, so contact your bank and make sure there are no issues.

@AmericanThreadz

Make sure your credit card has not expired (if it has expired you wouldn't get your deposit).

Re: Returned deposit

Thanks, but that's not the issue, as that's years away from happening.

Re: Returned deposit

@vintageNCtreasures  if your credit card has expired, Etsy will not even attempt to send a deposit.

Re: Returned deposit

@AmericanThreadz  I don't know if this is the case with you, but every once in a while some Seller's deposits were affected by a Coding Error (checking vs. savings and vice versa). Deposits would go to the bank, then be returned.  That may have nothing to do with your case though.

Re: Returned deposit

@AmericanThreadz -- There was another seller who was having a similar issue ... they also had daily deposit set up, but after changing it to weekly deposit AND then requesting it be sent now, it fixed the issue.  You can read about it here ... https://community.etsy.com/t5/Providing-Great-Customer-Service/Etsy-refusing-to-give-me-my-money-SAL...

Re: Returned deposit

You have to have a minimum for the deposit to happen and the amount has to be collected way before it is going to be deposited.  We don't get our funds from sales for about 12 hours so anything that comes in at night will not be available to transfer.  It's all automatic so it started only to have the sensor realize funds were insufficient to complete.

If you truly did have the minimum+ the change to weekly and ask for it to be transferred.

Re: Returned deposit

I had the exact same problem today except I normally do once a week deposits (I've been a seller on Etsy since 2006 so this isn't a new seller issue for me). I hit the "request it now" button last night & this morning got the usual email it was on the way. Then I checked my payment account & see it said "Deposit Returned" almost immediately (didn't receive an email for this) so hoping it was just some glitch. Will see what tomorrow turns up I guess. If it is returned tomorrow I'm going to reach out to support as all my information is correct & I had no issues receiving my deposits this past Monday.

Re: Returned deposit

Did you eventually receive your deposit? I'm having the same issue you described and have not been able to get anywhere with Etsy support. They keep telling me to contact my bank, which I have done multiple times now. My bank insists that they have not received any attempted deposits from Etsy or returned any deposits to Etsy on the dates the returned deposits occurred. Support just keeps sending me the help article on payments, claiming the issue has to be with my bank, and closing the chat before I can respond back. I did receive an email from a "support supervisor" who said basically the same thing and has never responded back after I provided proof from my bank that they have not received or returned any deposits. Nothing with my bank account information has changed since my last successful deposit, so I'm at a loss on what to do from here and hoping the issue has at least been resolved for others. The latest deposit is showing it's rescheduled for tomorrow, so maybe that one will work this time. I'll update if it does.
