Morning you lovely seller community from sunny Cheshire, UK!
Going on a short break later today and having had major issues with using holiday mode in the past, I am again just updating processing times so customers can still browse and purchase but with updated, accurate lead times for their orders.
Worked amazing last time and didn't suffer the major drop off on return that holiday mode used to cause.
BUT - I see Etsy changed the processing times area so its now made to order or ready for dispatch and can be different per variant which is amazing!
The issue I have is even after lengthening processing times this morning - it still appears to me that customers are seeing my items available for the usual delivery lead time of being dispatched same or next day on rapid delivery - so most are showing delivery estimate 24.05. It should be much later than that based on the processing times edit I made.
Wondering if it takes time to reflect on the listings? Has been nearly an hour since I made the change though. Worrying as a customer placing an order now would be given a false lead time that is not possible.
I can see the shipping cost on the item but not in the shipping profile. Good thing I have them memorized!
It uses an algorithm based on how quickly you dispatched orders in the past, so even if you set a longer processing time it may be overwritten by the algorithm, aka pretty useless.
I just fixed the issue to this in my listings! All you need to do is create a new shipping profile. The old profiles used previously had a processing time saved within it.
I tried that as well but when I did that, all of my listings in the new shipping profile do not show the customer an estimated delivery date for the item, the listing just states: This will be made just for you! Prep time varies. Contact the shop to find out when it will ship.
What a confusing mess. They've already removed the processing time that was recorded within the delivery profiles, but the new processing profiles are not applied. All my made to order items are due within 3 days (where ever they got that from I have no idea).
I've cleaned up the mess of all the sold items by moving current items into a specific recognisable new profile and then changing the profiles for all the old stuff to 10 weeks. This way it's obvious to me what's current and what's old. Why would you want to apply all this to ancient sold items. When we renew an item we can just change the applicable profile. Spent many hours on this already. Hopefully it will work from 27th and people won't order bigger made to order items in the meantime. At least you will be able to change the processing profiles to a longer period if you go on a holiday and you don't want to use holiday mode, same as it was with the delivery profiles.
Hi there in the UK,
I’ve experienced the same glitch — since Friday, all orders are suddenly showing a shipping date for Wednesday, even though my processing time is clearly set to one week (Monday to Friday)
It seems Etsy rolled out a major change just before the long weekend, and unfortunately, there’s no support available to clarify or fix it.
Has anyone found a workaround or solution yet? Would really appreciate any tips!
Oh, I find the solution above. Thank you
I am still looking for a solution as Its half term and I wanted to extended my dates by a few days.
Would you mind sharing how you have done it? @Sparklinginside
I changed my processing time to 3-5 days but still showing I will ship by Wednesday!
I’m having a bit of a nightmare with this too, turned my shop off holiday mode yesterday and went to extend my processing times but like many on here the option has disappeared and the new processing profiles are not working. I was hoping that as today is 27th May it might’ve changed but the delivery estimate is still showing as a short date so I’ve had to go back on holiday mode which I really don’t want to do! Does anyone know if they will update today?
I tried a chat bot on this issue just now as I was expecting it to happen today, totally useless answer as usual. Hoping it changes later.
Same issues here in the US. Just spoke to the customer support this morning as I am traveling for a month. They were not helpful and the only thing I got from them is " Yes, the problem is on our end. We are unable to show correct processing times. You can put your shop on vacation mode. We apologize etc". I mean the first thing I said when I picked that call was that I am new seller and don't want to use vacation mode. My ranking will tank. Does anyone know if setting the available quantity to 0 (sold out) will be better than vacation mode? I am ok making less sales till they fix the issue but at least I will still show up in search. Vacation mode will kill my shop. I am so upset. I leave in 2 days and don't even know what to do??!! If anyone has insights, please help.
Unfortunately you can’t change quantity to 0 it has to be 1 and I think I’m right in saying a sold item starts to drop in the algorithm too!
As a seller of 6 years I have never used vacation mode due to all the bad reviews on it. I always just push out the dates.
Etsy needs to sort this as a priority, I really don’t understand why they have broken a system that works!
I would hang on to the last minute and fingers crossed they change it before you head out.
The only option they gave me on chat box is to change the shipping date on each order. You can do it 1 time to each order but to me that’s seems like really bad customer service! Really not fair on a buyer if the purchased based on the advertised date!
ETSY need to fix this ASAP!
@DropsOfEarthShop
Nothing worked
In a mess here too. I changed my processing time to 1-3 days over the weekend so we would have a few days to process all the Memorial Day weekend sale orders. We had a record high yesterday, and today I got on and realized that all orders are due to ship after only 2 days (what I had it set at previously). So now we have over 250 orders due to ship today and another 200 due to ship tomorrow. I am waiting to see if the trick of creating a new shipping profile will fix it, but so far today all of the orders have still been coming in with only 2 days processing. What was supposed to be a nice sales weekend with a few days to catch up has turned into a nightmare!
Changing the shipping profiles has "fixed" it so that new orders coming in either have the processing time I want right now (3 days) or no estimated date. I'll take no estimated date over too soon! Hopefully this gets resolved soon.
Thats what I’ve done too just now, created a new shipping profile so now it doesn’t have a dispatch date, better than leaving it on holiday mode. So how does that work when you get a sale, what date does it give for it to be shipped by? I’m guessing I’m going to get loads of messages asking when will an order dispatch!
Am also in this same situation - my dispatch time is set to 1 day and i cant change it ! What are you changing in the shipping profile to fix this as my processing times are gone from my shipping profile?
just created an entirely new postage profile with the same details but new name. Because the dispatch times aren't on the new profile this seems to mean the new processing profile is then used rather than being stuck on the old processing times which can't be changed. There are still issues though as although most of the orders I've had today show the correct dispatch day some don't have any date at all. I've sold two of the same item to different customers, one has the correct dispatch date and the other no dispatch date at all so that has me completely confused!
I've selected a processing profile for each of my listings but it is not applying to the listings. Each of my listings has this message: This will be made just for you! Prep time varies. Contact the shop to find out when it will ship. My shipping profiles and processing profiles are fully filled out and applied but each listing is not recognizing it and expiring after I make a sale. Is anyone else having the same issue?
Yup same here. On Monday, i had the issue. They said by Tuesday it will be fixed. It was fixed BUT now its back to the same issue. WTH.
Seems this blew up while I was away! Had a nightmare with lots of orders coming in and having to explain to customers that they wouldn't be sent same or next day as usual and as the lead time would have them believe. Most actually wanted to wait up to a week which was super lovely and understanding. And just a few cancellations that needed the gifts sooner than that. But why oh why would this be the approach, no clue at all! Thanks for all the replies. Looks like it still isn't actually sorted so I am looking and assuming I need to create a new shipping profile !
I just experienced this issue and I figured out a fix. I had to create a new shipping profile and a new processing time profile, apply those to all my listings, and then delete the old ones. So the only processing time profile and shipping profile in my account are the 2 new ones. It couldn't default on any of the old ones. I just wanted to share because I panicked as I'm leaving for vacation for 7 days!
If you go into view your listings (as a customer would) is the estimated delivery date actually correct and reflective of your changes? Because I have all mine changed but the estimated delivery dates that are shown to customers are still incorrect.
That's interesting? So are your new processing profiles working? I'm not sure if the updates have taken effect in the UK yet. I am finding that Etsy is still using the processing times for all of my listings from before all of this was announced. I also cannot delete old processing profiles and just get a message saying "could not save changes".
