Problems signing in, no text message

Can someone help me please as I can not log into my account as I do not receive the text messages with my security code. There seems to be a bug. 
I live in France  had my account 7 years so I am not new to it  

I can’t even send a message to Etsy as I need that 2-factor authentication to send a message. 

Has anyone got another way to contact Etsy or knows how to solve this. Thank you. Alex.

@Deepbluelegend Do you remember where you stored the backup codes that were given to you when you enabled two factor authentication?

@givemeacrown  This is an older account I did not receive these code but I also have a newer account but for this one I did receive the codes. But even for the new account I do not receive a text message
and the codes from the code list can only be used once and still want let me switch off the 2-factor authentication. 
I can not find a way to contact Etsy without the 2-factor authentication.  Their system has some bugs. I saw that I am not the only one…

@Deepbluelegend Can you login to the new account using one of the backup codes and send Etsy Support a message that way?

Even when I log into the new account I can not send a messageas you need the code from your text messageto log in, once again to be able to send a message. Those 10 codes won’t work. They only work to log into your account. 
there is definitelya flaw in their system. Very frustrating.

I question if the 2 step works correctly. I have mine turned on and it has NEVER asked me for or sent me a code to sign in. It signs me in with just my password. Etsy support: known issue, working in it.....for months and months. In other words, they're doing nothing about it.

Yes, this is very concerning; the same happened to me this morning. It seems Etsy has changed the telephone format for France: instead of +33 xx xx xx xx x, they are sending a message to +3 (3xx) xxx-xxxx and my phone could not receive the code and I was locked out. Connecting via the app., using one backup code or disabling 2 factor authentication,... are temporary ways to log in but this issue needs to be solved (I was in contact with Etsy support and they were helpful to find a temporary way)..

I am in France too, and this happened to me with my three shops a few weeks ago. I used one of my back up codes to log in and managed to contact Etsy via Call back. I had to hunt around to find the button, scrolling down various options and tapping "I still need help"(The call button is sometimes greyed out, possibly because of the time difference, so it may be worth trying at different times of day to synch with USA times)?

After answering several security questions, (last four digits of payment account, last four digits of card etc) Etsy switched 2FA off for me. I then set up 2FA with an app called 2FAS, on my phone, which constantly generates codes. The app is linked to my Etsy accounts and is fairly easy to set up. I went online first to see how to do it.  Etsy also gives some new back up codes when you set up 2FA again

I know this won't help all of you, but I wish everyone luck. It is quite scary being locked out and not knowing how to resolve it.

@BodkinsFrance Thank you for sharing your experience with 2FAS open source app. I will have a look at it, it seems interesting.

My issue was solved in a different way: first, Etsy support cancelled two-factor authentication for my account as I was no longer receiving the security code via text on my phone and was locked out. Then, I reinstall two-factor authentication by asking to receive the security code via phone call ... and although text no longer worked, audio worked!

So, my advice would be, if text/sms do not work, try audio call if ever you still have some backup codes left - it will also recreate 10 new backup codes every time two-factor authentication is turned on. As the audio security code call is short, please make sure to be ready - loud audio, pen, paper... whatever it takes - also, please note the code will be spoken in English.

Again, this might not help all the (too many) sellers that seem to be affected, but just in case it helps or can reduce stress for some.
