Prices have increased after running a sale

Hi all,

I’ve seen a few posts on here about the price of an item increasing when as sale is running. Mine shows a higher price than the green crossed out price when looking at the items in search or on my shop, but when you click into the item it then shows the correct price. I’ve seen some people say it’s to do with Etsy adding the VAT to the sale price so that’s why it’s showing as a higher price. I did some looking around at both UK and US sellers selling digital items and they both somehow got their prices to be correct, so why is it only my shop adding the VAT. Anyone from the UK, could you tell me how you got your prices to show lower please?

Most of my customers are from US so if anyone from there could tell me how the price looks from your end that would be really useful, I don’t want to lose sales if it’s showing as more expensive when looking in search/shop.

Thanks for your help!

Re: Prices have increased after running a sale

It won't show higher for US buyers, as there is no VAT for etsy to show wrong.

It's a display issue relating to VAT.

When you put digital items on sale, etsy shows the Sale Price (VAT included) with VAT added. Making it a higher priced than the crossed out original.

It only happens on shop page and search and not individual listings or cart.

It's a years long display issue, that etsy either can't work out how to fix, or won't fix.

There's nothing you can do.
