I have just received -again- an unjustified negative review. Etsy is partly to blame here. And, Etsy does not remove such reviews.
Customer complains that he received "Product X" when he bought "Product X", and not the other things that are somewhere in pictures.
If the descriptions of the products on offer weren't literally hidden, this probably wouldn't have happened.
Yes, there are more and more people who are addicted to the smart phone disease, you could even say addiction, who don't even read the title of an offer.
The deliberate hiding of the description, which is essential, puts the icing on the cake.
There would be more satisfied customers and sellers if the important description, or at least the location of the description, was clearly and immediately visible. That would help a lot. Etsy would also be happy.
That is my urgent suggestion for improvement.
@offroadmarkt: While many sellers will agree with you that descriptions should be more visible, a large numbers of buyers will still not read them.
"... and not the other things that are somewhere in pictures." Etsy says that the primary image '... should showcase the actual finished product ...' so it is understandable that a buyer might expect to receive what the image purports to show as the item being offered for sale.
Why wouldn’t the buyer expect to receive whatever is in the photos? That’s the main purpose of photos!
Sizing. People need to read descriptions to get all info to include the sizes and any color options. Sometimes the photos my show one color that in the select the options maybe out of that color or size.
Declutter your photos and this won't happen again.
Your reply is condescending and cringe worthy and may turn away future buyers.
Your reply should show future buyers how you resolved the issue to the buyer's satisfaction, not a brow beating.
who can say what the buyer is getting based on the photos. Creating variations and connecting them to images might help.
If you show 8 photos of a completed item & only one poor photo of parts that are the actual listing item... this is on you. For sure the titles are not helping you either.
And then there is all the brand names... do you have license to be producing these items?

"Counterfeit or unauthorized items are prohibited on Etsy. We consider counterfeit or unauthorized goods to be items that imitate an authentic good, particularly by using a brand’s name, logo, or protected design without the brand owner’s consent."
Much like all the sellers selling handmade Barbie clothing but can't use Barbie's name since they are not licensed to do so.
Why on earth do you have a picture of the car at picture number 1? You say further down the listing that -A body, chassis or vehicle is therefore NOT included- I get that you have all the right words in your listing.. but it is not a new thing having the details hidden. The first picture needs to be what is for sale ONLY-- not the full car.. just the parts that are for sale. Maybe use the personalization box where the customer has to agree that they are only getting the gear box part and not what is in the first picture.
And honestly your reply to the feedback does not help your shop.. it is snarky. You should have worked with your customer before you wrote the reply.
Have you told them to return the items and they will get a full refund? I think that would be the easiest and fastest way to end this. They return, you refund, case closed. If they don’t return then that is on them.
