Photos attached to messages messed up when viewing on desktop

When I try to open a photo file attached to a message from a customer on my desktop (using chrome), it opens the photo file so large that I can't see the whole image, just a corner of it. When I click on a photo attached to a message using the mobile app, everything looks great.  How do I fix this issue? I primarily use my desktop to answer messages from customers.

If you're on a computer using a browser, then clicking on an image in a message opens the image in a new tab - and then clicking anywhere on the image will cause the browser to resize it to the browser window size.
