Penalized for Shipping to Naval Base

I shipped my order on time to a naval base, and entered the tracking number I was given by the USPS for Certified mail. However, my star seller dashboard is showing that I didn’t enter a tracking number for the order and therefore my on time shipping score has gone down. I’m working so hard to earn the star seller badge and this is so disappointing! I’m hoping this can somehow be adjusted.

Re: Penalized for Shipping to Naval Base

I doubt this had anything to do with the fact it was a naval base. This just seems to happen every now and then. Are you 100% certain you entered the tracking number and not the certified mail number?  And why would you mail it certified mail? Mailing to a military base is o different than mailing anywhere else.

Re: Penalized for Shipping to Naval Base

Shipping to military bases is very different than shipping to residential addresses. Once your package or letter arrives at the base, it's not immediately delivered so you have to take that into account. I worked in a library on an air force base. First, packages may go through a high energy x-ray that can destroy some heat sensitive packing labels. Second, packages may be opened and searched. Third, if suspicious, packages may be destroyed.

Re: Penalized for Shipping to Naval Base

@ChampagneWeekends  - I don't know when you marked the order complete, but you do have 3 days after doing that to edit the information entered.

Yes, while it may be a small percentage, it seems there are too many threads about tracking #'s not attaching to an order &/or Etsy not recognizing the tracking info. that really is there on the order. Then the random non-USA shops having their shipper changed by Etsy, so obviously the tracking number they entered is deemed 'invalid' & poof, there goes the SS stats.

At times one starts to think shops need to start their day not with getting new orders ready to ship, but with checking the status of yesterday's completed orders.
