I have my payouts set at weekly, so that means Mondays for me, but I just got an email that my payout was sent. What gives? Not really a complaint since it is my money anyway but wondering why.
Etsy changed this to a peer to peer support forum a while ago now so it's just us sellers here trying to help each other. If you need to reach etsy support you will need to contact them directly through the support ticket system.
That said...is it possible you accidently clicked the 'request it now' button yesterday to request and early transfer? That's the only thing I can think of that may have happened.
A few thoughts:
1. it could be a spoof email - hopefully you didn't click on anything in the email. You could see if the amount mentioned in the email matches an amount in your payment account in the shop manager to see if it might be a legitimate email.
2. is it possible the email got delayed on the way to you? Does the amount match an amount showing in your payment account in the shop manager from a different date?
3. is it possible you accidentally clicked the deposit button to trigger one outside of the weekly schedule?
if that doesn't solve it, I'd suggest contacting Etsy Support and asking them why it happened.
Thank you for your replies. I will make sure it is a legitimate email. I did look at my payout account and it still said weekly. I did not open the email.

@VictorianWardrobe - Even though it says weekly, there is a "Request it now" button below the "Available for deposit" amount (in a browser at least, I'm not sure where it is in the Sell on Etsy app) to request a deposit outside of the normal schedule.
If you go to your payment account monthly statement page: https://www.etsy.com/your/account/payments/monthly-statement
scroll down and under "All activities" you might see a row that has an icon of two arrows pointing in opposite directions and in the "Type" column it will say "Deposit".
If you see a row like that then it does look like a deposit outside of your normal schedule has been triggered.
I hope you're able to get to the bottom of what happened.
Yes, it was truly sent by Etsy. I did not ask for it, but really, it is not a problem. I would report it to Etsy as a technical issue but figuring out how to do that is like finding a needle in a haystack--not really worth my time. If it happens again, I will try to get to the bottom of it. Thank you all!
