Pattern website

I started a free trial for Pattern. I have also purchased a new domain name. But whenever I try to view the website online, I receive a message stating my site isn't secure and will not allow me to view the site. How can I fix this? If I can't see my site online no one else can either so this might have been a waste of time and money (for new domain name). I hope someone can help me with this issue.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Shelley

Re: Pattern website

I'm so sorry to hear this.  Etsy has been having this problem since they began offering Pattern.  Unfortunately, there is no dedicated Etsy support for the site. Nor is there likely to be any support in the future. Etsy stopped working on Pattern years ago.  But they still allow sellers to use it.

There are many website builders with downloadable options for Etsy listings.  All provide support.  A lot of Etsy sellers use websites run by Shopify, Square, Wix and so on.  There are also website provider sites such as Indiemade that have been developed for none tech savvy creatives which a lot of Etsy sellers use.  It may be beneficial to check these and others out.  If they end up being a fit the domaine name can be transferred to them.

This is your device stopping you from accessing the site. Run a deep scan on the device, scan & install the latest security & virus patches

Re: Pattern website

Typically I would say this is the case.  However, with Pattern I belive there is a problem with the program itself.  This is a constant issue with Pattern which I've experienced myself.

Years ago I tried Pattern when it was new.  This was one of my problems with Pattern which did get worse.  I did cleanings, updates and utilized new browsers on my end.  I contacted the domain company who informed me it was an issue with Etsy's programming. I'm not sure if this was the case?  I attempted to get assistance from Etsy and there was very little support even when Pattern was a new focus for them.  I closed Pattern and transferred the same domaine to another website builder I used instead.  I never experienced the problem again.  Since that time, this same problem has been reported by Pattern users more times than I can count.

It is always beneficial to do as CryzalisMasksUK suggests. Because the problem still could be on the sellers computer systems side.  But in this unique case, Pattern has a history of related problems.

Re: Pattern website

That kind of message is usually associated with a missing SSL certificate which is a requirement nowadays. Most domain issuers offer one for free such as Let’s Encrypt but I don’t know how it works with Pattern.

You might already have a SSL but you need to make sure that all visits to http:// are re-directed to https://

You can get past that message, most browsers display a link at the bottom of that message but it’s well concealed to prevent accidental visiting of dangerous websites.

@BellaVivoJewelry: Based on the numerous other threads in his forum on the same subject, it apparently takes Etsy several days to get the SSL certificate enabled on your Pattern site.
