Password in a data breach, can’t change password to log in under user name- help!

I received notice that my password was compromised in a data breach.  I tried to change the password on my three shops (one inactive), and was unable to do so. My husband got me in one of the shops going through Etsy.com/ shop name, but I haven’t been able to get in my other main shop!  For the past 10+ years, I’ve been able to log in using my shop name and a password.  After talking with ‘Chat’ they said each shop needs a separate email, and gave no solution to solving this problem!  With all the data breaches going on now, I can’t imagine that it would be that hard to change a password? It is true you can no longer log into a shop by typing in the shop name and using a password? Does each shop need its own email and password?? Do you have to go through Etsy.com/ name, each time to log in? I would really appreciate any answers since I’ve spent way too much time on this, and am totally in the dark and unable to access my accounts.

I’m not able to sign in to my shop after changing the password due to a data breech. I was using the same email for two shops since I’ve been a long time Etsy seller and wasn’t aware you couldn’t do that. If I could get into my shop, I could update the email and password, but I’m unable to do that! I’m starting to panic, since chat has been no help at all. Does anyone have any ideas? I’m a Star Seller, but won’t be for long if I can’t service my shop!

@BlueArtichokeDesigns: Are you sure that you used the same eMail adddress for both shops? The problem with that is how is Etsy supposed to know which shop you want to log into. If you have been able to log in before, are not the login name (be that your eMail address or username or shopname) and password stored in at least your browser's password manager?

I used to be able to log into my shop just using the shop name (and not my email) however I don't know if that has changed. I know it's good practice not to use the same password in 2 different accounts but I didn't think it was a rule.

Are you using a browser or the app?

Are you fully logging out of the first account before trying to log into the second?

Have you tried a different browser?

Have you tried clearing the browser cache and cookies?

Each shop has a different e-mail address, this has always been the case.

You need to remember which one/s you used

... if changing passwords had no verification, the hackers would have a field day

I just checked, and I was able to log into one of my accounts with the username (in the email address blank) and password. Your username may or may not be the same as your shop name. Your shops are on the older side, so if you never changed the shop names, they may be your usernames.

You do need a separate email address to log in to each account. As far as I remember, the system would not allow you to create a new account, using an email address that is already tied to an existing account. Try any other email address you once had, if the username trick doesn't work.
