PLAID will not verify bank account.

I have been using this account for deposits for the last two years. This "Plaid" nonsense is happening to me in the busiest month. I have attempted to verify it several times and it just keeps telling me that my bank is not ACH and is not a checking or savings account, which is not true. Am I expected to open ANOTHER bank account now just to appease etsy and their terrible policies?

Re: PLAID will not verify bank account.

I have contacted etsy support but they are useless per usual.

Re: PLAID will not verify bank account.

Why are we being required to allow a third-party company to have access to our bank account? My bank account was verified years ago when I signed up to sell. This is making no sense to me! I don't like it and am considering selling on another venue. Etsy just keeps adding more rules and taking more money, and making it harder to sell. I have checked with other sites and they are not requiring this. I feel like it is just another way for companies to have access to everything we have/own.

@sixpencebluemoon

We don't have to allow access to our banking passwords.  Have you checked out the manual option for verification? There are oodles of threads about this here.

Re: PLAID will not verify bank account.

@TCEFFECT - This is a link to Etsy's latest article on the bank verification process:

https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/articles/115015775908-How-to-Update-and-Verify-Your-Bank-Account-for-...

Using Plaid's Manual Option is really no different than when you first opened shop here on Etsy.
Between AML Laws & possibly the changes to US/IRS 1099 requirements, Etsy needs to confirm that the bank account they have on file they make your shop's deposits to has your name on the account.

Some Banks do not allow their customers to do the Instant Method, where you provide Plaid with the username & password to your bank account.

If you have any questions, contact your Bank. Explain what needs to be done - manual method, test deposit made & name on account confirmed. Since you are receiving deposits from Etsy, your bank allows these deposits, so hopefully they will not have a problem with the Manual Option thru Plaid.
You want to be sure you are entering the correct account number & bank routing number.
To get the correct account number look at your bank statement - some folks have mentioned needing to add zeroes which are only displayed on their bank statement, but are not on their checks.

If your Bank can find no problems, but you continue to have issues when trying to enter the information, you will need to contact Etsy. Just remember that if email is the option shown you, if all you receive is a generic reply, respond to that email that your issue is Not Resolved. Do not open new help tickets, that will only place you to the end of the line.

Re: PLAID will not verify bank account.

I have attempted to use manual method and it just keeps telling me that my account is not ACH and is not a valid checking or savings account after entering account number and routing number (not true). I refuse to attempt the automatic method requiring bank login info. I have contacted Et$y multiple times and they have yet to reply to me in regards to this matter. Absurd.

Re: PLAID will not verify bank account.

Make sure that you only enter the account number in the beginning.  I mistakenly entered the routing and account number.  Also, make sure to do the manual verification, that way you do not have to disclose your bank password

Re: PLAID will not verify bank account.

Do an etsy call back and have them delete you current connection to the bank so you can set up a new one.  I was spinning my wheels for a week, called my bank, tried all different combos (with zeros, without zeros etc.)  super stressful.  thankfully all fixed now.

Re: PLAID will not verify bank account.

@TCEFFECT  :  Based on a suggestion our bank made, see if your bank will allow you to create a new user for your bank account. If yes, use that login to do automatic verification and then delete that user.

Re: PLAID will not verify bank account.

Manual method is not working i had to do other first option with Etsy support. My bank account successfully connected.

This is Etsy Support E-mail maybe It can help you!

If your bank is eligible for instant verification, you will be prompted to add your banking sign in credential or other identifying information after you select your bank. If you are using a mobile device, like your phone, you may be directed to use your banking app to complete this step.
If you’re having any trouble with this, please reach out to your bank. You can also always add your bank account manually using your routing and account number combination.

Re: PLAID will not verify bank account.

@Ashleydreamjewelry  :  Hopefully you immediately changed your password and checked to make sure that Plaid did not attach itself to your account as some sort of app.
