Over 3 weeks on a "FORCED VACATION MODE" (maddening!) for verification of a single businessdocument

Jump to solution

Hi dear fellow Etsy sellers,

I am writing out of frustration, powerless feelings (not yet bt hopeless? almost!) will they ever get me off this forced vacation mode and review the single provided business document I uploaded on the business info page?

It honestly is driving me mad, I need to blow of some steam in the hope anyone can provide me some info or experience on this.

Firstly, how can it take so long for etsy (and not prioritize) to review important business documents, they say they take it serious but how serious is this doing business with us sellers who make a ton on money for them. My shop is on hold with a note I am on vacation AND processing orders. I am not processing orders, I processed all orders the day after they were placed, and we are two three weeks on from that point (I feel like a JOKE) but... ALL I wanna do is just make new sales and take orders and continue to make my usual (nearly) 10k a month. Besides that, I am not even talking about the reserves, which I can only imagine they have their hands full on with their own customer care. lord behold, we would do this to our own customers we would not even exist for long. I am getting agitated... and I never am they leave you in the dark about anything, I mailed couple times in different ways entered the documents verifications I even called them but no review of my business document. I am just waiting never entered new tickets, just wonder how long more its going to take for them to open my store again.

I am worried I look unprofessional at this point and I am loosing my numbers of customers and worse, my place in the promotions. Pray this wonẗ  be so.

Please tell me this is not gonna exceed a month of wasted time, income... this is a large part of my income, my main business.

Etsy if you read this, please take care of your things as it is you duty to do in a respectable timeframe.  at this point I worry its a glitch... and nobody telling me anything. Please take care of your users/customers because that is what we deserve too.

I just want to keep selling, today. please open my store...

Thank you forever,

Best regards, Janneke

I completely understand your frustration, my wife is in a similar situation. Her shop was suspended without explanation or warning, and when she contacted Etsy support and filed an appeal according to the instructions, it was stated that it could take up to 2 weeks to get a response. One lost day in business is a lot, and 2-3 weeks are a disaster. What would happen if we responded to customers' messages within this period? We all know the answer to that.

We invest ALL our energy in the Etsy store and by that in Etsy. They hand us the platform but we make it work, they allow us to put all our hopes and dreams in it, to put live out into this world and they put us on vacation mode (I am still not unfrozen as I called them again yesterday, they PROMISED me my account would be unfrozen as I provided all of the proof and documents. Within 3 hours to 3 days.  If I am still not unfrozen then I an the first person to call them again, by Monday morning. This is horrific!!

I wish they put out the truth (I am not a loser being on vacation for 3 weeks, fulfilling orders “in my vacation”…!!! I am not even on vacation. The message on my shop should read; Etsy has TROUBLEwith their own customerservice / custome care and we are fullfilling the “orders” ourselve. But they shift the blame to the shop owners and many customers contact me because they fear not getting their package 🤬🥵 it’s not me! So please, I kindly ask  you etsy, get me off vacation mode as you promisedme to handle your business within 5 days

@ForesteDiOro I can tell you don't believe in 2 weeks period.

1 month at the latest.

I'm talking from experience. Some folks state they waited for 2 months.

Update: Etsy just won’t help me to get of this damned vacation modus. It’s been 3 weeks exactly almost. Sad!

@ThirdeyeWarrior Did you open a ticket and asked them directly?

My suggestion would be to be apologetic and kind, don't pull out the demanting tone.

Just say Hey, I uploaded the document you asked for but if there's anything more you can do, you're ready to cooperate.

Being demanding and cursing won't give you any help. Etsy is not known for the best service and they can just permanently suspend if they want to. The fees you pay them are just a tiny drop of their income, it won't hurt them to suspend you just out of pure malice.

I am facing a similar situation - no reply from Etsy - no feedback from the support email nothing. It's maddening because I have run another shop successfully under my business since 2007 on Etsy. I was starting a new brand.

One quick thing to mention - I am also opening a Shopify store to sell on Instagram. It's only $5 a month for this simplified shop. I let you know how it goes - but since Etsy is not supporting established sellers opening new brands, I think that Shopify will.
