Hi, I despatched an order three weeks ago (which has sent e been received) but buyer has received over 200 emails from Etsy advising that the items have been despatched. Each new day they are sent has that day as the despatch date. Buyer reached out to Etsy but they are unable to help. I have no idea why this is happening or how to stop the emails being sent to the buyer. Any ideas please? Am hoping to avoid a one star review, buyer is getting a tad annoyed now (can’t blame them to be fair). Note that postage purchased through Royal Mail as normal. I’ve not done anything different with this order. Thank you
The problem is with their email provider
@NanaLetha nah, each email seems to be a new email with an updated dispatch date. They are not sending the same email over and over (as far as I can tell).
They could try here https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360001890208-How-to-Change-Your-Etsy-Email-Settings and change their settings. It might clear their glitch.
This seems to be happening more than it should with UK sellers lately, judging from the number of posts I have seen about it
It could be a problem with Etsy or Royal Mail - difficult to say.
Are you using Click & Drop or Etsy labels? If Click & Drop, you could try deleting the label purchase on the Click & Drop website. That might stop the feedback loop. If that doesn't work then at least you will know the problem is on the Etsy side and can feed this info back to their tech team.
Maybe Etsy is trying to make up for the notifications that sellers say they want but don't receive.
Someone else posted about a similar issue the other day and they were in the UK. I'm not sure where that thread is now but from memory they said that they had combined two orders into one parcel - is that the same for you?
@JoWoodNails I found the other thread I was thinking of: https://community.etsy.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Automatically-sending-a-dispatch-notification-email-e...
If you scroll down the thread it has some suggestions for what to do to get the emails to stop (though fixing it from happening again is up to either RM or Etsy).
