My store's hours of operation are from 10a - 8p PST.
When a customer places an order after hours, between 8p - 12a (midnight), the order is set to "Ship tomorrow" instead of "Ship in two days".
We cannot ship that order placed between 8p-12a at that speed as it takes time to pack and process the order that would be outside of our operating hours.
Feature Request:
There is no way in Shipping Profile to setup a cut-off time or hours of operation. Currently the default cut-off time is 12a midnight.
This appears to be a common problem/frustration with a quick Google or Reddit search. There should be a method to include your shops hours of operation or a cut-off time so the shipping estimate updates accordingly.

Additionally, when I reached out to customer service about this issue, I was lead to three sections that didn't exist to inform customers about this expectation.
- "Change your hours of operation in your shipping profile"
- "Change your shop's custom policies"
- "Set your shop's FAQ to include this detail"
None of these options exist and your customer service is providing methods that do not exist.
I know it's not the exact solution, but would you consider just adding a day to your processing time? I set my processing time to 2-3 days for in-stock items, even though I almost always ship same or next day. (Etsy sometimes prods me to update my shipping processing, but I don't. I like having a buffer in case something comes up in life, and I'd also rather do the whole underpromise/overdeliver thing) Having a processing time of 2-3 days doesn't seem to negatively affect my sales
Just add an extra day to your turnaround time, so 1-3 days, so you always have 2 days. It's easy and quick to do so. Customer Service is not going to help you because then cannot, so you wasted your time and theirs.
Hoping Etsy will make a change regarding this anytime soon is like hoping the sun will rise in the West tomorrow.
I know this isn't what you want to hear, sorry.
Just a heads up. You are selling an awful lot of items that are IP infringing. Marvel, along with many of Marvel's character names, as an example. This will get your shop shut down...and possibly a huge law suit.
@RamblinRoseSoaps if you look carefully, you will see that is he selling items designed for these games and he is not using images of the games. Perhaps the names that are on some of the items but it is as bad as you paint it, I think...
@swatchoclock
Yes, it is as bad as I paint it. Names of products such as Marvel....and their character names ARE intellectual property. That means they are owned by the company/persons who created them. For example, I make soap. I can make a pink colored soap and sell it and all is good. But if I use the name Barbie anywhere in the title, description or tags...as in Barbie pink....I am IP infringing. You can't use the names even if you don't use the images. Unless you have a license to do so. Period.
I do the same, by having a 1-3 days shipping time, altho I nearly always ship the same or next day. In winter I add a few days to it, in case the weather makes it hard to get out to the post office right away. And I really like that people can order any time of the day or night.
In 20 years of online selling, I have learned it is better to under promise and over deliver (in other words, set your ship by dates longer and ship early). In buyers eyes you look far more efficient than setting quick ship times and not always being able to meet them.
@TablePlayGames: Agree with you that at least a cut-off time for that day's orders would be a welcome addition (we would like that enhancement anyway), but with the inconsistent way that time zone conversions are handled I wonder if it would make it better or worse.
And as others have pointed you probably should speak with a qualified intellectual property (IP) attorney about your business model. When you call an item "Marvel Champions | Complete Divider Bundle" you are implying that it is either made by or sanctioned by Marvel's trademark owner. Since you do not list your licensing or even make proper attributions it makes it look like you are either a reseller or a counterfeiter. Your disclaimer in the listing is essentially an admission that you are aware you are using other people's intellectual property to market your items.
You might be able to say something like "TablePlayGames' Complete Divider Bundle for Marvel Champions" but a trademark owner can still come after you.
Keep in mind that the Etsy and intellectual property owners' bots check titles, descriptions, tags, and images for IP theft.
The day an item is bought does not count for shipping. The processing time frame starts the next day unless you are doing same day shipping which I think is too risky on Etsy. If so then you are creating the problem. Change the processing time to 1 to 3 days and you can ship the same day still or the next day.
If you want to work only certain hours then you have to take into account when you need to ship to be with Etsy's standards.
No we have never been able to select a shipping time frame for hours of operation and probably will never be able to. No other venue has such. It is not a missing feature. All online shops make allowances for handling sales that come in early or late in the day or on holidays. That is your responsibility just as it is mine.
If you want hours of operation, set an FAQ. Put the information in the listings. Put in announcements,
I work only certain hours but will not advertise such so I simply make arrangements with my processing schedule to get things shipped within Etsy's standards. Never been a problem.
This issue is resolved. Changed my processing time from 1 day to 1-3 days.
