Ordering Glitch

Last night I ordered 14 items from 1 shop.  Quantity looked right, total looked accurate, I made the purchase.  Did not receive email confirmation, but as a seller, I don't always receive an email that I made a sale so I didn't think much of it.  The purchase was in my tabs under Purchases.  All the items also remained in my cart.  As I saw that the purchase appeared to have gone through, it was in my Purchases tab, I deleted the items in my cart. This morning I go to my Purchases tab, the order is still there as it should be, there's a place to Click To See All 14 Items In This Order - when I click on it, it shows only 1 item, and the total $ is for only that 1 item.

I've contacted the seller to ask what order they actually received, but what is happening?

Re: Ordering Glitch

Probably another Etsy glitch.  Did you check to see if you had been charged for the entire order?  If the seller did get the order, then it should be ok.  If they didn't, you may have to redo your order and try again.

Re: Ordering Glitch

The seller only received the order for 1 item. We worked it out ourselves, but had I not checked, I would've been so sad when I only received 1 item, expecting 14!

Re: Ordering Glitch

Last night I had a buyer place two identical orders. I contacted them for clarification and they had not meant to place the second order at all, they told me Etsy had kept giving them errors. I don't know if that's related to what happened to you. Strange coincidence otherwise.

Re: Ordering Glitch

I had the same yesterday.  Buyer confirmed they only wanted one order.

Re: Ordering Glitch

As a seller who also will sell multiples of some items at once, this is not great - especially for a new buyer, it looks shady!!

Re: Ordering Glitch

As a buyer the other day, I also experienced a glitch. I had my cart loaded up, but when I finally went to place the order, there was a note that “one or more of my items was no longer available.” YET, Etsy didn’t adjust any of the quantities in my cart or remove anything. I clicked through each item & everything was still available in the shop! I thought maybe there was a delay in payment processing for her prior orders. I attempted to order for half a day, but got the same error. I even took items out of my cart & put back in. I finally opened a private window not signed it, placed all the same items in my cart, & was able to order right away… all the same items, same quantities. I just couldn’t order from my account due to the error!

I say this all the time in the forums, but I really despise that Etsy doesn’t show me what I purchased in the order confirmation email. They show the items in the shipping notices & delivery status emails… but not the first email. They make you jump through hoops to check your order right after it’s placed by going back to Etsy. As a seller who gets incomplete/wrong customer orders, I think it would be helpful to actually have a complete order confirmation email. I don’t understand why they stopped sending those a year ago.

Re: Ordering Glitch

This has me pretty nervous heading in to the "busiest" time of the year. Not everyone will persevere, many folks would just move on!!

Re: Ordering Glitch

I was about to move on myself. I was going to message the seller off Etsy to do a private order because I was irritated. I doubt many customers would've troubleshooted the issue like I did here. Most likely they would've shopped elsewhere.
