Order stuck in "Pre-Transit" — shipped with UPS instead of Canada Post

Hi everyone,

I’m a seller based in Canada. I purchased a shipping label for one of my orders through Etsy using Canada Post. However, on the day I went to drop it off, there was a strike, and Canada Post wasn’t accepting any parcels.

To avoid delays for my customer, I decided to ship the order using UPS instead (outside of Etsy) and paid for it separately. The item has already been delivered successfully to the buyer, and they confirmed receipt.

The issue is that on my Orders page, the order is still showing as “Pre-Transit” since Etsy is still waiting for a Canada Post scan that will never happen. I want to know:

• How can I mark this order as shipped/delivered?

• Will this affect my shop metrics?

I tried contacting Etsy Support but haven’t received a helpful response yet. Any advice or help from moderators or other sellers would be appreciated!

@RiverCandleByEmel: For metrics, nothing you do now will fix that. You had 72 hours to update the shipper and tracking number from the time you marked the order as completed https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/articles/115015774228-How-to-Add-Tracking-and-Complete-an-Order-?segm...

The best you can do now is to 'Add A Package' with the correct courier and tracking number but you cannot backdate the completed / shipped date. If the order is currently counting as not shipped in your Customer Service stats, a shipped late order is better than a never shipped order (which pre-transit implies).
