I bought items internationally. At first the tracking looked normal, but then after a few days, it updated to say the order was delivered. This is clearly a case of the shipping company reusing a tracking number because the delivery date is before the order date. As a seller, I understand what is going on, but a normal buyer would be super confused. Surely there must be a way for Etsy to not consider tracking info that predates the order.
It was shipped by PostNL, if that helps.
The same issue here. Etsy agent said that they can't do anything and I have to contact the shipping company and ask them why they are reusing tracking numbers. I am at a loss on what to do because some of my customers contacted me in a panic when the order was marked as "delivered" but in reality, it was still in transit.
All shipping companies reuse tracking numbers. When I copy-and-paste the number into the PostNL website, I get tracking info that makes sense for my order. It's lazy programming on Etsy's part.
