I uploaded USPS tracking for an order on 10/4 and it still shows as "pre-transit." It shows as delivered on USPS website. This glitch will prevent me from renewing as a star seller for October, is there a way to get Etsy to review this? Can't wait for holiday season!
Hello @StaceysSeaGlassShop,
We've checked your Star Seller and we can confirm that your Star Seller has updated and you're at 100%. There are some instances wherein the tracking events aren't automatically shared by the supported carrier. You're welcome to contact us, so we can try to request for tracking updates on our end(if there are any).
Thank you very much!
Hello @ArtforheartCreations,
We've double-checked the orders that are affecting your Star Seller, it appears that the tracking number you've added on the two orders can't also be tracked on the carrier's website and one order really don't have a tracking number added. It is possible that the number you've entered on the two orders, may not be the tracking number, or a slight error may have been made in entering the number. Please check the carrier and the tracking number match. If the carrier and tracking numbers do not match, this will count as an invalid tracking number. You can also check our help center article explaining how to add or edit a tracking number.
On the other hand, prior to posting in a thread in the Forums, we ask that you please check if you are not bumping an old thread that hasn't seen any activity in a few months (or years, even). If that is the case, and you still would like to share your thoughts and get the conversation going - whether about this or similar topics, we ask that you start your own thread instead of bumping an old one.
Please note that reviving old threads can cause confusion for members reading, so always check the dates of the most recent replies before posting. You can find this information on the top-left corner of each message, just below the member's username and profile picture.
Having said that, we are closing this thread as it is indeed a bit older, and the information contained here may be outdated. Thank you very much!
Hello @WhitehouseSJewellery,
We've double-checked the orders on your shop, and it appears that the tracking events are showing on Etsy. We can also confirm that your On-Time shipping metric is at 100%.

@StaceysSeaGlassShop : Unfortunately you are not alone in this situation based on the number of threads about this and we also have six orders in the period of September 24 to October 6 that have the same issue. We know that all of the orders have a processing time, shipped on time, and the tracking information is correct but they were not updated by Etsy / Aftership. It was reported that there was a glitch where orders that did have a processing time were incorrectly treated as if they did not but I do not know if that was resolved or if Etsy has asked AfterShip to recheck orders that do not have the correct shipping status. Perhaps one of the Etsy people who reply in this forum can update us.
Wow, that's frustrating. Hopefully Etsy can resolve for all of us!

Thank you for the confirmation @TonsOfPaper I did get updated. However, the issue happened again and I had to reach out again today. Any idea if the overarching issue is being worked on for a resolution? With holdiays approaching most shops won't have the bandwidth to follow up on this glitches.
I posted about this earlier in the week and followed up again with Etsy this weekend. They said they are definitely aware of this specific problem and have a team working on it. The customer service agent did ask for my specific order numbers that were affected to pass it along to that team to make sure it gets resolved. Hoping it's fixed by the end of the month!
Thanks for the insight. I couldn't find a way to message Etsy support... Do you know if there's a way to do so?
@StaceysSeaGlassShop I just went to my shop manager, community and help, and Contact Us, and then went through some categories to find one about shipping with Star Seller. They had an option to do a live chat!
I am experiencing the same thing and as my account has a hold on it for some unknown reason, it is creating delays in payment and I fear it will not be resolved. I have screenshots of my phone showing it tracking in Chronopost though the shipping profile clearly show it shipped with Colissimo, an entirely different company. Also I uploaded the tracking number to an order due to ship today and it allocated it to 2 orders! I rely on my Etsy income and now am reconsidering as I have a great record with my clients and always sort out or refund. I don't feel I deserve the way I have been treated.
USPS will periodically recycle tracking numbers …
I'm having a similar problem. I shipped two orders today (10/20/22) before noon and on my shop's dashboard, their status is still "pre-transit". I don't want to lose my star seller status either.
I have been using the new chat feature. They updated one shipment but not the other .. back on the chat again. Definitely a pain.
I have 3 orders that are delivered and Etsy shows them “pre transit”. I have tried email, customer service and no one will do anything. How do I get someone to fix this!
I have the same issue. Supplied USPS tracking numbers for all of my sales. Etsy claiming that I have 33 orders without tracking numbers. Every one of them has a tracking number.
Probably because over 30 orders are saying they are in pre-transit, but have been delivered.
I've email support (only option given; no live chat, no phone), got a blanket automated response five days ago, and haven't heard anything since.
Oh no I'm so sorry to hear that. There's a new chat feature if you're star seller, but not sure what other options there are if you are not.
@StaceysSeaGlassShop Can't get star seller if it's saying your on time shipping rate is at 54% shipped on time because it thinks you're missing 40+ tracking numbers... Even though I have shipped every item before it's ship-by date, with USPS tracking. Going on day 6 now with no response to their "email us" option. Still no option to chat/call/get help otherwise.
@HandDyedYarnByDM: If the shipper is supported by Etsy make sure that the shipped date, tracking number and shipping company show correctly on the actual order. Etsy relies on a third party vendor for tracking (and tracking number validation) and uses the data on the order. Often recent shipments are not correctly / timely updated. Usually a day or two after the package has been scanned the CSV file and order correctly show tracking and shipment status.
That being said, @CarriageTreasures @Harsin3DPrinting there are many reports in this forum about the status not being correctly updated by AfterShip. One of the Etsy moderators @TonsOfPaper has been successful in correcting many of these orders.
This is correct; I have shipments that were sent out (with valid USPS tracking numbers attached to the completed order) on October 1st that are still showing Pre-Transit. USPS shows them delivered, and customers have confirmed they have received their shipments.
If I plug the tracking numbers into Aftership, even aftership shows them as being delivered. There is clearly a breakdown between Aftership and Etsy that needs taken care of.
Thank you, it definitely seems like a disconnect with whatever system is used. I was able to get things updated by using the new chat feature, but it's certainly not ideal and I can't imagine super busy shops dealing with this or shops that don't have the chat feature.
I posted a couple days ago and my issues are not corrected. I emailed, in the same line, not a new email, the support tech who fixed the first few issues, and no response. How do I get it fixed?
I have the same problem with one of my orders still showing in pre transit!
It was shipped with tracking before the ship by date and customer has received the item.
I have tried contacting etsy about the problem, but have not had any luck getting in touch with them!
Yes. This is a widespread problem that needs to be addressed.
Having the same problem.
Yeah, I am still having this problem. Etsy will fix some of them but the problem just keeps coming up with new orders. I assume they are working on the larger issue.
Get in touch with seller support, show the, screenshot that item was delivered. This happened to me no that is how I got solved
