Hello everyone,
I received my first order yesterday and I was so exited for it. I got an email from Etsy asking me to provide my email which I did and I had a typo in the email, so I have not received the instructions. I tried to reply to the same message and now I can no longer communicate with support. Anyone know how I can contact support to get this straightened out? I want to ship the item as soon as possible, but I don’t know what the customer purchased. There’s no record, but I did get the email that says the customer purchased something. I have the name, address and order number.
Thank you.
It is a scam, you are lucky Etsy removed the user.
Just checked your shop, you have 0 orders.
All orders will appear in your dashboard under orders, if anyone is trying to tell you otherwise it is a scam.
Etsy will not ask you for your information or contact you personally when an order comes in. Read the forum announcements and the warnings on your message box in your dashboard, it is warning you for this exact scam. Have you not seen these warnings?
There are no sales showing in your shop.
It is a common scam targeting new shops hoping they will fall for it. Never click any links in any emails even if they look like they are from Etsy, always log in as you have done to see what the situation is.
Mark the message(s) as spam and best of luck for your first genuine sale!

At the bottom of the message, was there a pop up box warning you about scams, which mentioned that Etsy doesn’t ask for your email?
It says:
How to spot and report scams in Messages
If you get a suspicious message asking you to leave our site to share personal info or complete orders, make sure to mark it as spam. Keep in mind:
You might want to change your password - hopefully you didn't divulge any banking information.
Etsy has everything they need from you to process sales.
Thank you all for you reply. Do we know what the actual email is for Etsy support? I would like to have it just to confirm if I receive another email like it.
There is no direct email for Etsy support. Etsy does not need your email to complete a sale since they already have it. If Etsy sends you a message, it will show up in your Shop Manager>Messages>From Etsy section on the left.
The scammers copy and use the Etsy logo, but anyone can do that. So you cannot go by that. However, unless something goes terribly wrong, they cannot message you in the section called From Etsy.
@CassieThread Was it an email or Etsy message?
@NanaLetha I received it via email and when I log into my shop it shows as if it’s from Etsy with the orange Etsy logo.
@CassieThread what you received was an 'Etsy message' from another user (the scammer). The email you also received was the normal notification that Etsy sends when you receive an 'Etsy message'.
You need to go and find the scam message in your Etsy messages inbox and mark it as SPAM.
Real messages from Etsy now only appear in the 'From Etsy' section of your Etsy message inbox.
Most people can make the Etsy logo, you have no sales showing in your shop and Etsy would never ask for your email to complete an order
I don't know how to thank you guys. I am forever grateful that I found the forum. After not hearing from Etsy, I look at all sort of article until I found the forum. Thank you all for your help
@CassieThread This a SCAM, run, flee. do not engage with these scammers. Asking for your email is NOT from Etsy. NEVER. EVER.
