I had an order from a well know Fortune 500 company. It was on the larger side, but not nearly the largest order we have had.
The order showed "not paid." I spoke the person who did the ordering, who used a corp. credit card. She received no notice from ETSY.
It appears that from my end it would "fund" today. Instead the entire order disappeared.
I was not notified and neither was the buyer.
I don't get it. If there is an issue, at least let us know.
Any thoughts ?
It might have been a scam.
Doubtful. Not the kind of order that would be a scam. Personalized items (lots of them) for staff holiday gifts. I chatted with the buyer, she was real deal.
Perhaps their "corporate card" was used fraudulently?
Same answer as above. It would be odd to use corp card fraudulently to buy personalized staff gifts.
We will never know.
It's for your own protection.
You do not know whether the card has already expired, whether it has reached its limit or whether the credit card company has blocked the payment due to the amount and the "unusual" purchase and could not reach the credit card holder for confirmation.
@NewtownEmbroidery: "It appears that from my end it would "fund" today." If you received an actual notification from Etsy about the order then the failed order should be in the Completed tab and marked as cancelled. If you were not notified by Etsy of the order than you will also not be advised that it was cancelled / refused by Etsy.
It is clear that the payment failed.
Even if it did, an email to the buyer would have been in order. They have since cancelled her Etsy account, which I think she may have set up for this purchase (not sure.)

The account could also have been removed by Etsy...

People do it all the time.
