Order deliverd but still shown in transit

Hi there!!

This problem seems to be very common and probably lasts for years......

It is about an ordered that is already sent WITH a Tracking Number, the customer received the order BUT it still show that the order is in Transit and that the Tracking Number is missing.

I am a 5 Star Seller and on my board now show a lower percentage on Sipping and Tracking .

I contacted the Etsy Support and for my surprise they answered. First the Robot and then they connected me with a human Agent to whom  i explained the problem giving all the Data needed and they told me that the Technical Service will work on it and resolve the problem. It is more than a week now and nothing has changed. And on top....there is no answer when i click on Etsy Support Button!!!!!

Any suggestions here????

Same here. This has often happened over the years and is so annoying. Have given up contacting support so try not to worry about it.

This has been happening for years, the agent should have been able to manually change this for you.

Clear your cookies & cache and reopen the chat in your dashboard.

If you order is in transit, then the system must have logged the tracking number. Provide the agent with the order number, date of delivery and the link to the tracking page from the postal website showing the order has been delivered.

With this information, they can verify that your parcel has been delivered and are able to manually fix this in your dashboard and correct it.

Thanks for the advice but i have already done it with the agent . She said to me that the rechnical support woll fix the problem

You can't rely on Etsy tracking and the status will never change! The customer service agents just have to say something to you.  I have lots of orders from way back that still say In Transit.  So long as the item is showing as Delivered on the carrier's website then all is good and I wouldn't fret over it nor waste any more time trying to resolve it.

@StepToLight: "... on my board now show a lower percentage on Sipping and Tracking ." Whether or not an order shows as delivered is irrelevant to Star Seller - it only checks if an order has a processing time, was shipped on time, and was shipped with verifiable tracking.

Have you checked the applicable CSV file on your Customer Service (Star Seller) page to see what Etsy thinks shipped late or otherwise has something wrong with it? In particular make sure that *Had processing time?* = yes, *Ship by* has a date, *Tracking/label date* has a date, and *Shipped on time?* = yes. Remember that Star Seller dates / times are in UTC not your time zone.

@BagmakerSupply This stood out to me as well - Etsy does not follow tracking, just whether or not you provide tracking, so I'm not sure why the OP is getting these issues.

Indeed, USPS doesn't always update tracking - last year I went though all the alerts and "find my package" with no update after months, only to find out it was delivered in a few days and received by the Buyer.

Etsy says that the tracking number is missing and because if this the percentage us lower. But there is a tracking number

@StepToLight: "But there is a tracking number" Is the tracking number verifiable? An unsupported shipping company or invalid / unverified tracking number equals shipped without tracking.

What happens if you click on the tracking number link on the actual order? If it opens the courier's tracking page and shows the scan history then you have proof that the tracking information was entered correctly.

Tracking number is verified by DHL 

There is no problem with the data if the order . This is a technical issue of Etsy and not yet resolved. Probably it will never be resolved

I posted in response to a similar thread earlier this week and here is the gist of it:

I have three orders in the last month which were stuck on pre-transit yet were sent with valid tracking and on time and are already delivered and one with 5 star review.  I have been exchanging messages with an Etsy support person who has even admitted that it is a 'known issue' which is that sometimes the tracking works and sometimes it doesn't!! With just the first pre-transit, I managed to get back over 95%, as two of them have not dinted my star seller like I thought they would.  I asked why one was and they said that tracking sometimes works and sometimes it doesn't.  They should not be judging sellers performance and passing the resulting information on to shoppers when the system they use is not 100% reliable.

@LeLightFantastique: An order stuck in "pre-transit" is different than an order that never changes from "in-transit" to "delivered" - the former can affect Star Seller the latter does not.

In theory, an order still in "pre transit" means that the tracking information AS ENTERED cannot be validated. For example, a typo or a leading or trailing space in the tracking number or an incorrect / unsupported courier selected.
