Ongoing issues with stats

Hi! Thanks in advance for any help.

TLDR: For two weeks straight, I've been getting a massive influx of views and visits to my stores, but very few to actual listings. Sales have dropped off a cliff since this started, and it's not crawlers/the normal bots from search engines.


I'm aware of the listing views issue yesterday, and I know what crawlers are and how they look. However, I've had an issue going on with my views for two weeks now and it's really messing with my stats at this point. It's making it difficult to track SEO and progress.

I have two shops, and it's happening to both of them (this one, handmade, and another for vintage). 

Since August 14, they've both seen a massive uptick in views and visits - and direct traffic only covers a small fraction of it. A majority are actually from "Etsy App and Other Etsy Pages."

Here's a quick look at what I've been dealing with and details I have:

• During the off season, I'll get 14 views to this shop - I'm now seeing 200-400.  Vintage store is seeing 5x the normal amount.
• Almost none of the visits go to listings. It's almost always just the shopfront pages. For example, on this store, in the past 7 days, I have 1,322 total views, 1,231 visits, and yet only 0.04 listing views per visit. 
• This isn't a one day spike at midnight. It's every single day, all day, for two weeks straight.
• It hasn't resulted in an uptick of sales or favorites. In fact, sales have become almost non-existent since this started on my vintage shop, where I was seeing at least one a day prior.
• Google Analytics doesn't provide further details.

My first inclination was a bot of some sort, but I'm not sure why it would only be visiting the store pages rather than listings - and why it would be affecting both shops at the same time for this long. I couldn't find any one talking about this online. I've been selling on here since 2010 and I've never seen this before. 

With the holidays approaching and my vintage shop getting almost no real views or sales now when it was previously seeing steady growth, I would love to figure this out. Thank you!

Bots and there is nothing you can do about it

For two weeks, every single day? I'm more than familiar with crawlers. These are coming from the Etsy App to my shop, rather than direct views crawling my listings.

I've been selling on here for 15 years, and I've never seen this happen ever. And it's odd it's affecting both of my shops at the same time.

@NanaLetha  I'm the vintage shop the OP is referring to.  These are not your typical bot spikes.  It's been spiked every day and night for 2 weeks straight.  

The stats' views and visits do not match up to what's actually being viewed.

@TheVintagePineapple I appreciate your faith in me, but "Etsy App and Other Etsy Pages" makes this very hard to figure out, especially since you say Google Analytics isn't showing anything - they should at least show any real "other pages" clicks. 

If it was just one shop, I'd say that a link to your shop home page was being featured somewhere on the app or another page, which could explain the lack of listing clicks. Both shops makes no sense. 

I hope someone else can chime in.
