I have 2 shops on Etsy. I closed my bridal bouquet shop in July and still have an active supply shop. I received the notice to update bank information on the closed stop. I cannot see any way to complete this action using the closed store. Any ideas?
If it is one you want to ever reopen I think you might need to reopen it and do the banking details. If you never plan to use it again Etsy should *poof* it if you do nothing? It is probably part of their plan to weed out inactive shops that have been a target for hacking.
I am just afraid not updating will cause my active shop to be closed.
I am not planning on ever opening the bouquet shop. To reopen to change banking it appears I have to contact Etsy support. What would happen if I select to close account? Would it close entire account including my active shop?
If you have multiple shops, if you select to close only one of them, that is the only shop that will be closed.
Closing one shop will NOT close your other shops.
Not updating your bank info on the closed shop has nothing to do with the active shop.
If you never update the bank info on the closed shop, then from what I've read, Etsy will suspend that closed shop until you verify the banking info.
If you never plan on reopening that one shop, then close it, see link below.
When you get notified to update the bank info on your active shop, you'll have to verify it.

I understand that - there also is an option to close your account. I am assuming that might "close " my active shop also eliminate my entire account?
That option to close an account is on ALL shops and it ONLY applies for the account/shop you're signed into.
It does not apply to any other shops you have.
Closing one account will NOT close ALL of your accounts.
So you believe that I can wait to update banking on my active shop once I am contacted without an issue?
Yes, you'll have to wait until you get the notification to update your banking info with Plaid on this active shop.
When you do, you'll have 30 days to get it updated.
I just received an email titled Bank Verification to Keep Getting Paid. Is this legitimate? I get so many phishing emails, I am always hesitant to respond in anyway.
Yes, it's legit.
There's a gazillion threads on the forums about Plaid plus it should show up on your dashboard and finance page.
You don't verify through the email. You do this on your finance page.
Either instant (you have to use your bank login and password) or manual (use your routing and bank acct. #'s).
