I’ve made 8 sales so far but when I’ve asked people to leave reviews it’s showing in their purchase history as not purchases. Why is this happening and how can they leave a review.
on some it is also showing as not completed because I have posted but not put a tracking number in. I know the customer has received their order but it’s still showing as in transit. How can we rectify this?

I’m not exactly sure what you’re saying about the reviews. Where dome of them guests? Guests cannot leave reviews.
you need to always put in a tracking number. Not doing do will downgrade your shop’s status & you’ll get less views. Also, you may know the package has been delivered, but the only way Etsy knows is by the tracing number.
I agree with ZenCatpottery, check to see if they are guest orders. Regarding the tracking, as you are in the UK if you are posting Royal Mail you can use the proof of posting number you get on your Post Office receipt. Everything else, Evri, Yodel etc has a tracking number you can use when you complete the order. If its a service not on the list you can use "other".
If the customer DM’s you, says they have received the parcel and are requesting to review your shop ( because it’s not showing as delivered due to no tracking information) Contact CS directly, they will be able to verify the customers request (via DM) and should fix it in the system.
Another possibility is the Buyer has more than one account, and not realize it. This happened to me recently - Buyer messaged me about a return, and while the name matched (and they had the transaction number) - viewing the account linked to the message showed a different profile than the one they purchased from. I explained this to the Buyer, that I could only process a return/refund through their original account they used to purchase. Sometime people forget their logins, and think it's easier to just start another account.
The first thing that came to my mind is that they were guest purchases. Guest purchasers cannot leave reviews. Buyers must have an account to be able to leave a review. Depending on when the purchases were made, the buyers may not be able to leave a review because there is a window to do so that opens and closes. As for the items that are stating that they are still in transit when the customer has actually received the item, it may be that the postal worker didn't scan the package when they delivered it, or the system still needs to update the delivery status. Sometimes there is a lag in updates.
