Hi, I opened my shop a couple weeks ago. I don't seem to receive any emails (aside from marketing emails as an etsy user (email I have registered also with my shop), but no notifications about responses from community and I just had my first sale, and received no email about it. I checked spam and verified my email on settings and no problems there... Thanks for any input.
email is a third party link between you and etsy
don't rely on it, problems can happen anywhere, and e-mail providers can block e-mails, not even sent them to spam
log into your shop at least once a day
Many sellers have posted here over the years about not getting Etsy emails (for sales or messages). Some sellers get the emails sporadically, some have gotten them fine for years & all of a sudden don't. Etsy will blame your email provider even though some sellers have confirmed the issue isn't on the end. Either way, most definitely come to Etsy daily to check in.

and etsy isn't going to work 100% with every e-mail provider in the world, and every e-mail provider in the world won't work with etsy

Whitelisting is supposed to help, but that doesn't always work either. But either way, how to explain how some sellers get some order notifications, but not all? I don't use the app, but apparently you can't trust that for notifications either.

I use email only as a back up. I come into my shop daily at least. Don't rely on email. It's nice but should not take the place of visiting one's shop at least daily.
