Not getting messages from buyers

I'm not receiving any messages on my Etsy shop

You just opened shop, so why would you expect any messages?

Are you getting email notifications telling you that you received an Etsy message and when you go to check there's no message there?   Then that's most likely because, as a new shop, you're getting scam messages that were already deleted (or spammed) by Etsy for being scams.

If one of those scam messages makes it thru, do not respond and do NOT click any links that may be in them.

Check you spam folder. For some reason mine started going in there a couple weeks ago. 2 turned into good orders, not spam.

Likely those messages were spam/scam.  Scammers target new sellers.  Beware of the following message RED FLAGS.

1. Buyers ask to contact you off Etsy.  Email, SMS/text, WhatsApp, Instagram.  The want you off Etsy in order to get you past Etsy's protections and scam you.
2. Messages claiming you need to confirm a sale.  You NEVER need to confirm a sale.
3. Messages claiming you've been paid, but need to re-enter your bank account, credit card info, etc.  SCAM.
4. Links in messages.  Do NOT CLICK on links in messages.

Keep yourself safe with the following:

1. Never take the conversation off Etsy
2. Never click on links sent in messages

Expect to continue to get scam messages.  The scammers will eventually quit once you are no longer a new shop.

If you receive an actual order, you will see it in your "Orders and Shipping" section and you will receive an email from Etsy notifying you that you have a sale, and there will be a notification in your dashboard as well.

From your title i assumed you are new and have no sales, i was correct, and thus, the likely issue here isn't that you aren't receiving messages but rather you are not getting responses from the random people you are spamming. If you have no sales you have no buyers so there are no buyers to be messaging you. You should not be messaging people from your etsy shop that did not write you first. You may correct me if i'm wrong. Also, if this is just an attention post to draw eyes to your shop, you are only hurting yourself because other sellers are the only ones who will look at your shop and they aren't going to buy anything and it lowers your conversion rate and ranking as etsy sees traffic to your shop is not interested in the items you are selling.

Your shop is brand new and incomplete.  Much is missing.  Tags in listings is absent.

Messages will come as your shop gains a history.
