I received a message from a customer asking if I had more than just one of an item I listed earlier today. I checked the listing and I saw the same thing the customer was seeing. just add to cart with no drop down to select multiple quantities.
I figured I missed something and when I went in to edit all of my quantities were showing.
Why is not visible on the listing?

If you add to cart do you then see the quantity dropdown?
I haven't followed the latest info but a while back Etsy changed it so products over a certain price show the quantity dropdown in the cart rather than the listing page.
Well that's really bizarre if that is how it works! I'm a seller, and as a buyer even I wouldn't have figured that out, I don't think.
Thanks for the heads up!
Items over $20 need to be added to cart, and then the Buyer selects quantity. No good reason for Etsy to do this. Maybe you could ask here -
Thank you! I went over there and posted a comment. I can't believe this is not a glitch. Why on earth? This explains all of the "why do you only have one" My regulars know me and my products and its confusing
They literally know how many of each I'm going to drop.
I also don’t like this. I had a customer recently order an item twice separately with separate shipping because he could not figure out how to order two at the same time. This change is absolutely of no benefit and cumbersome. Kind of like the new app and new listing page. Who is making these decisions??
@ACertainFeel who is making these decisions?? People who don't have real Etsy shops and are not affected by the outcome of those decisions.
I agree with this being very awkward for a buyer and the only workaround is to duplicate listings with an option for a gift box, for example. If this is a paid add on option, the buyer wouldn't know to add item to cart, go back, add a different item to cart to get a gift box option (at the moment I'm assuming this would work for the SAME item listing (?).
Otherwise, I now have 4 options and will have to create 8 options that show the additional gift box add on price.
You can also add a note to your description that lets customers know that an option to purchase additional will appear when they place one in their cart.
