Not Receiving Etsy Emails

Hi there!

On Monday, I placed an order from an Etsy shop and received a confirmation email about the order. I had to cancel the order on Tuesday and received an Etsy email about the cancellation. On Wednesday, I placed a different order and did not receive any Etsy emails about it. I thought it was odd but decided to wait and see if there was an Etsy glitch, and the email would show up later. This morning, I have not received any Etsy emails, but I did get an order for my shop. I’ve never not had an email about a new order for my shop. Is anyone else having this problem? I double-checked my Etsy settings and my email is on file as the one that emails are sent to. 

I did receive two Etsy community emails this morning, though.

From what I've been able to tell, this is an ongoing problem for quite a long time... and until it began happening to me, I'd thought it was an oversight on the part of the sellers reporting it. Now I see that's it's become more widespread as the site and shops are growing. Sadly, I've learned not to depend upon Etsy for notifying me of transactions, including orders from buyers and my own, deposits to my bank,email notification of messages, or of purchasing shipping label confirmations. They're spotty at best, but I've learned I cannot depend on Etsy to inform me of anything... all th while I keep getting their pop-ups asking why don't I opt in for more messages from Etsy ... WHY on earth would I do that when I can't even depend on receiving the basic info from them. If and when they can fix that, I might consider it... but we all know that won't happen... so I'll keep track of my own sales, orders, payments, deposits, messages, etc.

Sorry, I can't give you much advice or help on this... but until someone back there decides to look for the problem and its solution, I don't see it being corrected.

It could be your email provider.  They change rules.  Or they have a issue in your area where the power interruption causes loss of email.

It could be the servers are overloaded.  This is true especially of free email.

The order has a term that your email provider will block.

It happens and it is not always Etsy's fault.  

I don't rely on email for Etsy.  I use it only a back up.

Yea, it could be a lot of things, but since it's very unlikely that we all have the same email providers (for myself, it's also my internet provider, so I doubt it). Too many sellers from too many different locations, and such random missing emails points towards the Etsy system... especially the standard emails we should all be getting, that don't require an opt in. Plus, if it were happening with any emails coming from other sources, I could give Etsy the benefit of the doubt... but if it only happens with Etsy emails, something is obviously amiss here.
