Wondering if there is a problem with the views showing. I have no views at all and have been on Etsy for about a year now. I have some sales but not a lot. My problem is not even getting any views. I was doing better and improving on my listings everyday and I made some sales and now I am at a standstill. I am wondering if there is a technical issue at this time. Even when I use social media (facebook, instagram and pinterest) I am getting no views at all. Sales were not good but never had such a problem with 0 views.
Promote daily on social media.
I promote constantly and was getting a lot of viewings but the last day or two I am getting 0 views no matter what i do.
Me too the last 3 days actually. And I’m doing $10 on ads.
@FlockofScents I think you are asking for grief by having more than one candle in your first photo, if one is what they will get. Too many don't bother reading the descriptions. They only look at the pictures. If they see three candles, they will expect three candles.
I always recommend reading and taking notes on the Ultimate Guide to Etsy Search. All of my information comes from there.
I'm looking at this listing: Handmade Pillar Candles, Alpine Forest Scent Luxury Candles, Green & Red Decorated Candles - 14 oz.
If this were my listing, I would try to write it more like a sentence than just a bundle of tags. Remembering that I'm not your target audience and don't know your items like you do, I might write it like this:
3 Handmade Pillar Candles in Alpine Forest Scent Decorated Green & Red for Luxury Christmas Decorations.
This has all the words you have in it without duplicating the word candle. You don't need to put the same word twice in your tags or titles, it just takes up more space and sounds redundant.
In the Ultimate Guide to Etsy Search you'll see that Etsy Search will mix and match words from your titles and tags to match the search query (what people write in the search box). This means you don't need to keep repeating the word candle in your tags.
There are 2 types of matching. There is Exact Match which means the words appear in the same order as the search query. There is also Broad Match which means Etsy Search finds all the words from the search query box and matches them to what you have in the tags. While Exact Match is best, Broad Matching is still very good because it's more difficult to match what people will call your item.
For instance, when I was looking for a particular sticker, I ended up with putting this in the search box: Car Sticker Dog Australian Shepherd. I was looking for a car sticker, then thought I'd just get a dog one, so I stuck that word to the end of my search terms. Then I saw there were specific breeds so I stuck Aussie at the end. I don't think I'm the only one that just continues to write in the search box instead of erasing and rewriting the whole thing.
Also looking at your tags you have pink and green as a tag. Is this red like your title states or Pink?
Remember that we get 13 tags with 20 characters each. Knowing that Etsy Search will mix and match the words (not the phrases but the words) for a broad match, it's best to just put as many words in each tag as the characters allow.
THE EXCEPTION TO THE RULE: You will have one or 2 "Superstar Tags." These are tags that exactly describes your product and no other phrase describes it better.
An example in my shop would be Strawberry Push Pins. You immediately know exactly what this item is, and if you need strawberry push pins then this is the exact phrase you will use. I always keep these words together. But in other tags I might have "Coworker Friend Gift". This jumble makes no sense, but if someone types in Gift for Friend or Gift for Coworker I will then broad match for these terms.
You have lovely candles, and I think they would look great on a mantle or as Holiday Table Decor. By condensing some of your tags you'll have more room for tags that describes where and what you would use them for.
If this were my listing I might condense the tags to: Handcrafted Candle, Christmas Decor Gift, Luxury Paraffin, Trio of Pillar Candles, Holiday Table Accent, Handmade Unique, Housewarming Gift . . . Since I'm not your target market I don't really know your products.
I don't think Novelty Gift is appropriate, though. This is just my opinion, but when I see novelty gift I think of something like my Bear Astronaut Push Pins. That is more of a novelty or unusual push pin. Whereas yours are simply beautiful and elegant.
I hope this helps a bit. You have a lovely product. In your about section it would be nice to add some pictures of your work space or you making candles. This helps people see that you are actually making the candles. It gives the customer more of a connection with you. I know workspaces can be messy or your private area. Play with the angles to give a sense I'm in your work space, but not all the messy details. If you are camera shy, maybe an over the shoulder photo just to let everyone know you are actually making them.
Good luck!
