Got a weird message from a customer asking if something was free as it's shown in the styled photo for scale... was going to copy and paste the item description where it clearly states all that is included (though also stated visually in another photo) - and there are no item descriptions, shipping info, or anything else other than the stupid prominent placement of reviews and an add to cart, quantity select box.
Looks like Etsy has made changes to the way listings are displayed. I am receiving several messages that are confused about how to purchase the items that are already listed.
After clicking on the listing you must read the description after scrolling down for a mile, even under the review postings to see the description, policy and shipping fees.
I never even thought to scroll down farther - thanks for clearing up my confusion. This is ridiculous. Buyers need the item descriptions front and center, not the reviews. I spend so much time answering messages with copy & pastes from the item descriptions.
So there will be an increase in NAD cases brought by buyers.
Which Etsy will gladly pay.
And then raise our fees again to compensate.
I made a generic white words on black background image that states
"Item details including description, shipping, returns, etc., may have moved to bottom of page. Please contact me with any questions. Thanks!".
This image is 2nd in my photo placement. It's all I know to do. Sigh . . .
The item descriptions are way down at the bottom of the page. Where one expects to see descriptions and specs there is a empty space. Is this a glitch or the way things are from now on? Really confusing!
Hmm, funny that. Isn't etsy always proclaiming that they don't want things that confuse the buyer? Not finding the description makes buyers purchase more? Or will they, like I do, bounce when I can't find information about a product I'm looking at?
Guess someone forgot to send that survey.
They must still be testing this- everything looks normal for me in Chrome on my Macbook. I wish they would just do away with this terrible idea and start fixing things that are actually broken.
And heaven forbid a shopper might want to reference the item photos as they READ the description (if they even find it)
