New Listing Issue

I am trying to list a new item but it won't let me pick a category. It won't even let me create my own category either. Anyone else having this problem?

I listed some things about 30 minutes ago (about 1:40 PM on July 1st) but now I can't pick a category. This just happened but I'm sure it's a glitch they are working on.

Same here I can't select a category. Even if you go to manually select them, it won't let you. And I was on a roll.....

Having the same issue. I was able to create a listing earlier today ( 2 hours ago) Most likely a technical problem. It's too bad that seller's are not able to access an Etsy representative by phone or chat for questions and assistance

I contacted them through chat, and it sounds like they are aware and working on it.

Me as well. This is so frustrating. I have a customer that wants to bundle 4 like items and I am unable to relist them for her. It would sure be nice if Etsy had a phone number to call so we to speak to an actual live person.

I just listed a new item and changed category using the COPY feature of another listing , no problem. 

We never start from scratch, saves tons of time!

Same! This is maddening. This is my only time to make NEW LISTINGS. Come on, Etsy. Please fix ASAP!!!!

Agree! Etsy provided a wonderful service for sellers at one time. I'm surprised that Etsy would downgrade the Seller experience. Providing 24 hour support results in a much better company.

Just spoke to customer service on Etsy. They had me use a different browser to list items and it seemed to work. Not sure if they were aware of this problem they were having but they are now. I hope they get this fixed.

So...  I just now sat down to list a few items and encountered this "category" problem. Sure seems like etsy has messed with a bunch of things the past few days. This issue, messages scrolling to the top, and scrolling to the top on the orders manager too. 

But, even though etsy told me they couldn't find a category for buttons... and wouldn't let me add one either...  I was still able to add my item as a new listing. Who knows where etsy might have plunked my item??? ... but at least it's listed. So even if you butt up against this latest glitch, you might still try listing your item. Gotta wonder how many shoppers filter by category anyways. The way etsy has things set up is not like any other website in the world. My suspicion is that most shoppers use the search box and then maybe sort... but that's just speculation on my part.

What next???  All these issues are just eating up my time. Should NOT take this long to fix issues... assuming anyone is even working on a fix???

It's working for me on the other browser, I tried awkwardly edge, but it worked, hope they fix it
