The new listing form is not working, when I try to renew or add a listing. It is giving me an error in Red. I prefer the Old Form. This has been happening since the beginning of the new form, so I would switch to the old form.
I have been making myself use the new listing form as the old one is disappearing soon. It is glitchy in many ways but I am going to have to get used to it.
What is the error message?
I've received many error messages with the new form saying "Try Again Later". Ha! I try again, and again, and again. HOW MUCH LATER? A year??
Issue have been happening over the last week with a number of users
For at least 4 months for me.
I tried 4 times to renew a listing with variations using the new form and the only way I could get it to work is revert to the old form. Not good for something that is going to be our only option.
I also have to click on the 'your changes may not be saved' EVERY TIME I renew a listing in the new form. Have tried different browsers and that's not it.
If you change your price in editing a renewal, make sure that you view your page like a customer sees… I have the old price showing. I have deactivated it until I can get it fixes
This is happening to me too, it is so frustrating!
I've been having this issue yesterday and today as well. Can't save as a draft or publish a new listing. Error message says, Hm, we're having trouble saving your changes.
I keep getting this one: "Try Again Later" Right. I have all the time in the world. I can sit and watch the error message repeat itself ad nauseam..."Try Again"..."Try Again"...
I love the new form. Been using it for months now.
Chances could be you are not filling in everything correctly. Such as there can be no spaces at the beginning of the title.
It is also possible that if you take too long your ISP will time out. It is also possible that older computers may not work well with the new template.
I use Edge on a computer and not the app. It's been working fine for me for editing, copying and creating new. The issues people seem to be having may be related to browser and OS settings that are running into conflict. When I worked in another computer driven job whenver anything new was sent out, the programming worked well in a small setting but wider dispersal with computersand networks with all sorts of levels of utility problems cropped up. Since sellers are now having to use the new format as the old one is going away the rise of issues are happening. Familar scenario to me.
Please give us more credit -- we know how to create listings.
Post after post have shown that the new form works inconsitently. There are plenty of seasoned sellers having trouble.
The last issue I had was that the new form would not let me change a quantity so that I could renew the item. I was only trying to change the quantity. Nothing extra needed to be filled out -- the listing already existed. I got the uh-oh error until I switched to the old form.
JD, Have you ever been on a site where a Listing Form prevented people from listing? I haven't. For Sellers who are still having issues, especially at this late date (4 more days before they do not have the ability to switch back to the Old Listing Form, as Support has been instructing people to do).
We have all seen the June 19 Update to the Announcement about the New Listing Form (at least most of us have). So at this point, with Sellers still having trouble, I really don't believe Etsy had intentions of fixing some of the glitches that by the way, have been going on for over a year, when the New Listing Form was first implemented.
Bottom line, for those who can't list, they can't sell. So it's great the New Listing Form is working for you; not so great for Sellers who are still having trouble.
@Adorabilities @ChillwolfArt
You are right, many seasoned sellers (even some who are computer savvy) are having issues. And Etsy is aware there are glitches which is why they are still working on this program. It is getting better. More sellers are having success with it now which is positive. So hopefully it will be working for everyone soon. This is obviously not the case yet.
It's positive that Etsy sellers are sharing with both Etsy and the community. Working together is always best because it's how problems can be better worked through. Etsy does look at the technical section of the forums so it's possible this is helping along with the reports.
Most sellers have been incredibly supportive of others having learning curve questions or facing technical problems with the new form. Both can be difficult and/or frustrating. We have such a special community here! It's one of my favorite things about Etsy. Thank you both for your continued support for others.
Condescending and unsympathetic to what people are experiencing.
I see 2 glitches yet today. Last night adjusted some prices on listings and today I notice prices never changed. Also, wanted to reinstate old pictures on a expired listing, the new listing form won't let you reuse the photos and so needed to go to my old listing form and save to reuse on a new listing created. We need that old listing there were no glitches on it.
I hate it, take much longer, easy to forget things because they are hidden or in a bad order you have to jump around so much it is crazy! Why mess with something that worked????
@BluKatDesign Yes. The hidden aspect makes no sense whatsoever. How is that an improvement to hide things?? And the chaotic ordering of the elements is bizarre. Someone (an actual engineer???) got paid to create this mess. As you say, if it ain't broke don't fix it.
The new listing form is bad. So many more steps, and nothing in sequence.
I am using a desktop computer and Chrome browser. I just edited 2 listings in the new form and published them with the changes without any issues.
Could the browser being used be an issue? Or laptop, vs tablet, vs phone editing have different results?
I have a desktop computer also. I also have Chrome.
It definitely could be the problem. This is a great suggestion! But in my case I've already ruled these things out. I've tried using Chrome along with Safari. I've swapped out devices which includes a new MacBook Pro, a Microsoft Surface laptop I use for travel, an Apple Desktop and an iPhone. None are old units. The same issue happened on all. I've also done system cleanings, made sure the newest software updates are installed, cleared history and limited running applications. There are some glitches with the program because many sellers are experiencing the same problem. Since there has been recent fixes for some of the other issues hopefully these remaining problems will also be resolved soon.
@GroundZeroCreations Nope. The browser is not the issue. It's happening across all browsers.
