Needing Advice! Buyers Question, Should I or Shouldn't I?
I know this is not a technical issue, but for some reason I only have two options for forums. Announcements and Technical Issues.
I sell fine jewelry, mostly Karat Gold & Sterling Silver. I had a customer send a message asking if it would be possible to size the ring. I am fully capable to do it, I have been a Bench Jeweler for just shy of 11 years and doing things like sizing rings is literally part of my job description.
It is not mentioned anywhere that we size the rings that we sell but this is now the 3rd in the last several months that has asked this same question.
If I were to do this what would the best way be to go about it? If this could boost my sales I would love to offer this on some of my listings, but again I don't know how or what the best way to go about it would be, or if I even should. Does anyone else on Etsy offer this service?
I figure I would need to calculate how much the sizing would affect the price (I add Gold in, not stretch the metal already there) and talk with the customer if they would be agreeable. I know I would want to make a custom listing for the ring with the new details but I wouldn't have some of them until my work is done. I would probably want the payment (order) in before I do the work but I would prefer to have the listing with the updated photos of the ring after it is sized.
What would you all suggest?

Re: Needing Advice! Buyers Question, Should I or Shouldn't I?
Hi
You could create listings with a sizing price variant which covers the constant change in the cost of base metals or just have a separate charge for sizing if that is better?
