Have any of you run into this problem. I just had a customer message me that he wants to purchase one of my products. But it won’t let him put it in his cart unless he personalizes it. I don’t require it. Is this part of the gift mode thing that Etsy is doing. Need to figure out or I will lose the sale. Can anyone help. Thanks Tom
Have the customer put a period to get the sale to go through for now. Then double check the listing.
I checked all your listings, since there are only 19.
This is the only listing that you have set up to require the personalization field filled out.
Large Handmade Wooden Semi-livestock/cattle Truck - Etsy
You just need to uncheck that spot in the listing.
@KringleWorkshops - Sadly this could be the start of some sort of scam - the buyer wanting to take the purchase off Etsy.
It's possible the buyer lives in a country you don't ship to. Though I don't understand the "warning" about personalization required if accurate.
While Etsy does feature many listings in their Gift Mode that offer personalization not all of them are.
There is also the possibility that the buyer is having payment method problems. Since payment is something Etsy handles, the buyer would be the one that needs to contact Etsy.
Double check all your listings to be sure something isn't "off". If you confirm none require personalization to purchase imo the best thing to do would be to advise the buyer to contact Etsy.
