Need to contact Etsy - Every Ticket Being Closed

Looking for some help particularly from a MOD - I have been trying to contact seller support regarding 2 listings mistakingly being removed for breaking creativity standards for not being “craft supplies” (they weren’t and weren’t listed as so) from reading others on the forum, I am sure this was an etsy glitch triggered after they changed the standards on June 10th.

I have now lost my star seller badges and told one more removal will have my shop banned. I am urging a HUMAN to look into my issue yet I keep opening support tickets via email and they are being marked as complete and closed with no replies or action. The chat button on my dashboard no longer works and none of the email support tickets allow me to “still need help”. I desperately need to contact a person at support - please help!

Just bumping further - after reading the Etsy transparency report released in May, Etsy admits that 4 out of 5 listings they deactivate are done so in error. 80% are in fact not violating any policy (including my own). There has to be a better way to appeal the wrongful takedowns that threaten a store suspension when it’s known that 80% of the time, Etsy are wrong and have said so themselves. 

In 2023, Alice Wu stated that “we’ll also be working to add more transparency to let sellers know if their listings have been temporarily removed from search for review”, but that never happened. 

It can’t be expected for sellers to suffer in this way when the help promised isn’t being offered. Every support ticket has been closed. This is my livelihood, I really need Etsy to address this.. @ModAngie

You might be better off starting a thread with your actual problem in the title; those can get quicker mod attention. You might hit it lucky here because a mod has been tagged, but it is not guaranteed.  (Your tags didn't work, btw - you need to type the @ symbol, then start typing the name; once the name you want appears in the drop down, you click it to select it.)

Glad you found my coverage of the Transparency Report useful! (Etsy does not admit to that bad of an error rate now; they don't provide the numbers to calculate it. I've had to work backwards to a few Reports previous to do the math.)

Etsy has been known to deactivate items for a seemingly odd reason because it's actually for another reason so they mention house rules reasons.

@AnchorRoadVintage I rarely see that these days. The emails state the exact policy and it usually is correct, even if the takedown is wrong. That would seem to apply to the OP's takedowns as well. (Many people have reported their items being automatically categorized as craft supplies when they are not.)

For some reason they like closing tickets, keep at it, eventually someone may help. This seems so unfair!

My husband sells vintage hardware. Last week I  experimented by trying to list one exactly the same and when I  got to the category picker area I  chose the handmade/vintage  category and it STILL said it would also appear in the now defunct supply categories.  Not sure about this week. Pretend like you are making a new listing for that product (DO NOT PUBLISH IT!) and see if it is still attaching to supply categories.  We have ZERO control over that!

It is ludicrous that they rolled out these new changes and did not cease adding things to those categories.

Thank you - yes very frustrating when I know the error was not mine.. even if it had been (It wasn’t) but I also find suspending a shop over a wrongly categorised item very harsh - surely an email to inform and correct would be more appropriate. However, as said, my item was not a craft supply and nor was it listed as such, yet the deactivation email clearly stated I had misused the “craft supply”. I know if I can just get some human help, I’m sure it will be resolved as it a pretty obvious error but getting the help seems to be impossible..

@ByVictoriaMaxwell   Tagging is quite easy.  Just use the @ and the box opens.  I already did it below.

@ByVictoriaMaxwell   Did you respond to one of the emails?  You need to respond to at least one of them to get Etsy to look at the request.  Any further inquiries will get closed immediately.

Did the takedowns in any way reflect craft interests?  If you used a craft as an example for the logo then I could see the mistake the BOT would make.

@ByVictoriaMaxwell @I suggest calling them, I had all my listings ( 103) disappeared for no reason, turns out they got deleted( not sure how as I did not delete them) but  no violations, they reactivated for me and was able to publish them not to long after the call. Was solved within 1hr and store is back up. I have attached the link below
