I have recently re-opened my shop after not using it for 10+ years. I have one order that still appears as open, even though it has long since been completed. However, when I try to update the status as completed, I'm prompted to send shipping information. Even when I try to make the carrier "Other" and then enter in a comment, I can't complete the order because it's too old to provide shipping information. If I try to cancel the order, I am prompted to give a refund. I don't know how to clear this order from my account and change the status to completed. Thanks.
You will have to contact Etsy and ask them to close the order. There isn't any way to do that yourself.
I ran into that and contacted Etsy. Took them a few days, but they closed the transaction and all was well.
