Potential buyers message me for my email and now I can't send replies back to buyers.
They are scammers.
Etsy caught them and closed their accounts before they could scam you out of money.
Do not give your email out. Buyers don't ever need it.
Etsy also sent me a message for a new buyer and now I'm can't even receive messages from buyers
It was not Etsy.
It was a liar pretending to be Etsy.
No, listen; this is not Etsy. I'm sorry you were targeted. Scammers are pretending to be Etsy Staff. And they are telling you they need your email to make a sale. THIS IS NOT TRUE! Do not click or engage with them. Mark the Messages as Spam (so you don't get dinged for Star Seller).
When you get a TRUE sale, you will see it on your Orders and Shipping page, in your Shop Dashboard.
At the top of the Forum, there is an Etsy Announcement regarding scams. Also, in your Shop Dashboard, there should be an Announcement regarding scams, telling you to "Get the guide".
@UniqueMomBoss - This is a current scam technique. Do not reply. No buyer needs your email, and it is NOT Etsy asking for it.
This is a scam. Don’t respond or provide any personal or financial information. Send it to spam.

Be sure to mark the message as SPAM so that it does not affect your stats.
Those are not BUYERS. Buyers don't need your email. Those are SCAMMERS who want your email address so they can take the conversation off Etsy, send you fake emails convince you they are Etsy Support, and steal your money. They target new shop owners who don't know better.
If you ever get a message or email from a company asking for your information do not reply. Go to the site they say they are from, in this case Etsy, and go through them to give them the information.
If it was scammers you may have saved whatever is in your bank account and may help Etsy catch them and close them down.
this is a weird one i have had it several times over the years, i have a large order, but when im sending the buyers messages not answer, then every now and then i get an answer but it seems odd, so i send the orders in batches, as i fear what is coming that its a hacked account, this time i have a buyer whom has been sent the item, its showing as delivered but im getting a message to say they havent got it, last week they sent a message that they got a message from delivery company but they didnt actually get it, they include their email which matches one on account, i stick to etsy messages, i send them several messages nothing, then today i get a help request same buyer, the item not received, i have replied to the help request and included copies of the previous messages and explained again i can only reply to them through etsy, meanwhile i check out the name on the account whom has not history on etsy, then i google the address and the name, the buyer is supposed to be 97 years old, so im not sure if its really him but he seems to be typing on the request ok, but it seems he is not getting my messages through etsy to the same email, so i dont know what to think, the item is showing as delivered but obviously we know there can be errors so i have been emailing back to try and sort it out now messaging through etsy request as well very odd
I'm sorry, what?
