I found that several messages I sent to customers were counted in the message response rate. It is me sent these message, not customers sent to me. This should not happen and it is unfair, as I have no message to response. The message response rate only applies to the first message in a thread with a buyer. Messages the seller initiate aren't counted.
I believe my Star Seller score was calculated incorrectly, and the message response rate affect my account greatly. Who I should contact with to fix the rate?
If you download your stats, you can see exactly which messages were calculated.
You mentioned you initiated the messages not the customers, were they messages regarding their order?
If the messages were not regarding their order, then the system may be changing how they are calculating and dealing with unsolicited messages.
Check the download and if the messages were regarding the order a customer places, contact Etsy and provide them with the information from your stats
